These are some of the things i have tried:

1. de-activating all plugins
2. empty cache/ disabling cache
3. refreshing browser (all affected) a million times
4. checking file and folder permissions
5. adding to the .htaccess files:

   <FilesMatch "\.(ttf|otf|woff)$">
   <IfModule mod_headers.c>
           Header set Access-Control-Allow-Origin "*"
   </IfModule>
   </FilesMatch>

none of the above has worked, but it IS a permissions problem as this is the error i am getting:
failed to load resource the server responded with a status of 403 (forbidden) wordpress

any ideas please?
