Very much appreciate your help with this. I’ve gone in to the staging and live site removing the quote characters however the problem still persists. I agree with you that the content is likely to be the issue here as opposed to the theme or page builder but cannot work out why it is causing the page builder and page to crash on save?

Hi Rikard, thanks for getting back.

The staging site doesn’t have a SSL – it’s not related to the issue which is identical to the one on the live site which does have a SSL installed. I have a number of staging sites on my own server that I use sub domains for but do not install certificates for until we move across to live. I’ve tested all plugins disabled on both live and staging yet the issue still happens.

It only does not occur when I change the themes to a standard WP theme.

I can send you login details for the live website if that would be more beneficial?

Thank you for getting back to me. I have tried the site using a default WP theme and all works fine. I think I’m having issues with the page builder. Sometimes I get a spinning icon when loading the page up or I get the black screen with error message as noted above.

My hosting support team (at TSO Host) response was as follows:

“I do believe that what you are experiencing might be caused by your site requiring more resources and hitting the limit when performing certain operations etc. Reviewing the situation further I noticed that the site was set to use 512MB memory and have decided to temporary change this to 1024MB as well increased the values of certain PHP directives via the .user.ini file located inside the site’s folder. Please do check and see whether this improves the situation and let us know of the results.”

However after this update the issue still persisted.

They are now suggesting I upgrade my hosting package to one that will cost nearly double, however this is a small website with very little in the way of functionality.

I’ve set up a staging site on my own server, also hosted by TSO, and have experienced the same issue.
