Hey again,
So I switched to the Classic Editor then deleted and added the comments element again. It is now appearing in the post. I’m also getting the current version when I preview the post too.
I switched back to the Default Block Editor and the previous warning about ‘unexpected or invalid content’ had disappeared.
So it seems all is working normally and no help is needed.
Thanks,
Del Hogg
Hey,
We added the Comments element to the bottom of the post as usual, but it is not appearing when we view the post.
Looking in the Default Editor, there is a message at the top saying ‘This block contains unexpected or invalid content’ with the option to Resolve or Convert to HTML.
We have never dealt with this issue before and are unsure how to proceed.
And as mentioned in the previous comment, we are unable to preview any changes to the post as the preview shows an older version of the post.
Any help greatly appreciated,
Del Hogg
Hi,
That seems to have done the trick.
Thanks very much for your help as always.
Del
Hey Victoria,
Thanks for the reply. You can see the issue at: https://www.goingthewholehogg.com/
The problem is occurring in every blog post where there are two or more columns (layout elements) side by side, pretty much always containing images.
The issue is not appearing on Microsoft Edge but is on Google Chrome. Also on Chrome and Safari on mobiles.
Below are the links to screenshots showing the problem. There two screenshots of each example, one from Edge and one from Chrome.

https://www.goingthewholehogg.com/a-quick-guide-to-dadaocheng-taipeis-oldest-district/But like I said, the issue is occurring throughout the website.
I’ve added the login details below as well in case you need to take a look at the backend.
Thanks for your help,

Hi Rikard,
I’ve tested it and it seems to work perfectly. Just what I was after.
Thanks very much,
Del
Hey Rikard,
I’ve been putting the negative white space inside the layout element for mobile view, this dealt with the extra white space on larger screens.
However, what I want to do is hide the entire layout element (column) on larger screens, thereby eliminating any spacing issues and significantly simplifying my process.
Can you provide me with a means of hiding a layout element (column) on screens that are 768px and above?
Thanks again for your time,
Del
Hey Victoria,
We’ve added that code back in and all seems fine.
Thanks again,
Del
Hey Rikard,
So, just to be clear, my end goal is to have the two same or similar images displayed in two different layout elements (columns): one for larger screens, one for smaller screens.
Previously, I’ve been checking ‘Hide on mobile devices’ under the Screen Options tab in the layout element (column) I want to display on larger screens. However, there’s no option to hide on larger screens under the Screen Options tab in the layout element (column). For the content I want to display on smaller screens, I have been going to the Screen Options tab of the Image or Text Block within the layout element (column) and checking the boxes to hide on large and medium sized screens. I have been ‘highlighting’ the columns for mobile view to make them bigger and stretch across the width of the screen, but this seems to create extra white space visible on larger screens. I’ve then had to compensate with negative white space.
Essentially, I think I want to display one layout element (column) at a resolution of 767px and below, and one layout element (column) at a resolution of 768px and above. This would correspond to the boxes for smaller and larger screens in the Enfold ‘Screen Options’ tab in various elements.
You can see how I’ve done this at our recent blog post:
https://www.goingthewholehogg.com/eat-and-drink-in-tainan/
I’ve put login details in the Private Content section below so you can see what I’ve done in the backend.
Perhaps you can suggest a better way to do it.
Thanks for your time,
Del
Hey,
Sorry about the delay in replying. I managed to work out another option.
Thanks,

I still don’t have a solution to the problem. I just tried to update to the latest version (4.5.4) but I’m getting the same message:
What can we do?
Thanks,

I checked the token had the correct permissions, revalidated the token and tried to update the theme again. Still getting the same problem. What’s the next step?
Thanks,

I’ve really got no idea what I’m looking for in the server logs. It seemed to be a problem that was occurring with many others so perhaps there’s something more general going on. It would be great if you could help further or advise in detail how to proceed.
Thanks,

Hi Rikard, Victoria
The last text box about the Danish cafe is NOT complete, and I have a lot more content missing after this too. I could have manually added it all again, but given that this was half a days work for me I didn’t want to do this and contacted the support team 3 days ago to try and fix the problem instead.
I don’t understand why, suddenly, half my post has disappeared despite me saving regularly. I am reluctant to spend hours re-creating this or future blog posts knowing that this problem could occur again but not how to fix it.
Victoria requested I enable the debug mode, which is why there is a text element of shortcode now appearing at the end.
I need to publish this post ASAP, is it possible to get my missing content back?
Thanks
Kim
Hi Victoria,
I’ve enabled the debug mode as you requested. The final text block showing is not complete and I’m missing all the other elements that followed it. Also, one of the pictures in the ‘Chili Peppers’ section is aligning to the left when I preview.
We’re trying to get this post finished for today. Can you help?
Thanks,
Kim
Hi Rikard
Login URL is in the private info.
I tried restoring a backup from the message at the top of the post but now I don’t even have the completed content in the preview page. Can you help me get my missing content back?
Thanks
Kim
Hi,
That problem is no longer appearing on our site. Everything is back as it was.
Thanks,
Kim
Hi,
We cleared the cache again, it’s definitely not that. There’s no problem with what’s shown in the above screenshots. The problem is on the home page, just below Latest Videos. The mobile fallback image for the videos is just appearing as a narrow strip with the title and [object Object].

Having looked at the thread that Ismael suggested, we’re just not clear exactly how to fix this, so would appreciate any help you can give us.
Thanks,
KimHi,
I took a look at the suggested code edit again. It seems like we need to add
if(this.isMobile)
to the original code in the sildeshow.js file.
It doesn’t say exactly where to put it though. Sorry, we’re just a little confused.
Thanks,
Kim
Hi,
We had a look at the topic you suggested. We’re not clear on whether you’ve changed the code or there’s something we need to do. We are still having the issue.
Can you advise please?
Thanks,
Kim
Hi,
Thanks for that. We’ve updated to the latest version of the theme and the video on the fullwidth easy slider is appearing normally. On the mobile however, there should be an image showing in place of the video. Instead it just says ‘object’ twice. Please see the attached screenshot.

Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Kim
Hi Rikard,
Thanks again. We don’t really want to host the video on Youtube but just want to keep it as a locally hosted short clip. Is there anything we can do in this version to make it work?
We appreciate the info on the staging site idea, we’ll take that on board for future changes.
Thanks,
Kim
Hi Rikard,
Okay, we tried removing the Social Warfare code from one of our posts and the problem of the code appearing went away. We updated the Social Warfare plugin, but were unable to update the pro add-on, getting an update error message. So we deactivated the Social Warfare pro add-on. Now our posts and pages are appearing without all the code. We’ll contact the Social Warfare support team for help with resolving the issues with the plugin.
Regarding the video problem, it’s in the fullwidth easy slider about half way down the home page. It’s appearing black or as a still image on Edge. On the phone there should be a fallback image but it’s black too. Can you help fix this part?
Thanks,
Kim
Hi Rikard,
We’re seeing the first issue on Chrome and Edge on the computer after clearing browser caching, and also on Firefox and Chrome on the phone. It’s appearing on all blog posts and many pages although not the home page. Our friend just checked on his iPhone after also clearing caching and he’s seeing exactly the same as us: lots of code appearing in place of headers, images, social share buttons and more. On the latest blog post ‘Jeju Olle Video’ for example, all the code is appearing, then the proper version, then more code.
As for the second issue, the video slider on the home page is appearing as the black screen on Chrome and as a still of the video on Edge:
https://postimg.cc/image/61s895kjf/
On the phone where a photo should appear, it’s also just showing a black screen.
We were running the two caching plugins because it was our understanding that they work well together as long as they are set up correctly. We weren’t experiencing any problems before updating Enfold. When we saw the problem, we put the site on Under Construction because we didn’t want people to see it like that. We didn’t then think to deactivate the caching plugins but have deactivated them now.
Understandably, we are very concerned about this. Our site has been down for two days now and we really need this resolved urgently.
Thanks for your help,
Kim
Hi Rikard
Thanks for your reply. Yes, I cleared both caching plugins and the browser cache. Here is an example of what I’m seeing. The majority of our blog posts, plus the resources page and others are appearing like this. The ‘video’ slider on the homepage is also just black.
https://postimg.cc/image/vbxfg9ng7/f39dbc2e/
https://postimg.cc/image/x3qebcu07/9a763207/
We have no idea what’s going on with it, can you help please?
Thanks
Kim
Hi
Just wondering if someone can look at this urgently? We’ve had to put our website on maintenance mode as it is completely messed up with code showing on the front end.
I’ve added WP login details to the private field in the first message. Please help!
Thanks
Kim

February 12, 2018 at 4:59 am in reply to: Changing mobile menu browser width and screen options for video elements #910892Hi Mike
Thanks for your reply. So, I’ve tried adding the CSS from your original reply, plus the new CSS and the custom classes to the 1/2 elements. This removed the video completely from my small screen devices below 990px, and didn’t appear to change anything on my 1040px screen device. It still just shows the backup photo from the slider element as it can’t display the auto-play video.
I don’t have 1/2 container elements on the other post where I’m trying to display videos in the same way, just the video and slider elements themselves. I added the custom class to the elements themselves, but again no change. ( the Saryangdo hike post). Should I add the elements into a 1/1 container and add the class to the container?!
I’ve removed the original CSS for now so that I got my video displaying on small screens again. I’m a bit confused as to whether I did it right, or maybe need to try some different code?
Feel free to take a look at the backend if it’s easier – info in the private field. We’re live now so can view front end without logging in.
Thanks,
KimFebruary 11, 2018 at 4:14 am in reply to: Changing mobile menu browser width and screen options for video elements #910713Hi Mike
Thanks for your reply. I think that’s half right – on the homepage I’m looking to hide the video element above 1040px, and we want to hide the slider below 1040px.
I’ll have this same set up on various pages/posts – I’m essentially wanting my videos to autoplay via the slider on screens above 1040px, but just use the normal video element for all screens below 1040px. So, code that will make the changes for these elements across the site (not just for the homepage) would be ideal.
We’ve gone live with the site now, just so you know!
Thanks
Kim
