Thank you very much.
Finally :D
Hello,
i did the code changes but it still displays the sidebar only on the main forum view.
If i select a sub forum or a thread it will not get displayed anymore.
# Edit: Okay now it finally works. You have to activate both “Sidebar on Archive Pages” and “Sidebar on Single Post Pages” in the theme settings.
Thanks
I just looked at the forum.php.
There is this function call at the bottom
get_sidebar()
Should that function return something? Cause if i do a
var_dump(get_sidebar());
i get a
NULL
as return.# Edit: Okay as far as i understand it (not experienced with wordpress development) it just calls the sidebar.php which finally should load the desired sidebar.
I really need help there. No idea why it does not work.
If you go here:
http://gewora.net/support-forums1/
Yuou will see it fine with the sidebar.
If you now click on a forum, the sidebar will disappear because it redirects to
http://gewora.net/support-forums/XX (cause the forum slug is set to “support-forums” in the bbPress settings)
If i change the slug from the page to the slug which is sett in the bbPress settings (support-forums) it will overwrite the page and the sidebar is not here anymore.
Yes as i said:
The problem is with the forum slug. If i set it up to the page with the shortcode then it will just overwrite the page and the sidebar is gone.
If i give it another slug then it will redirect to that if you click on a topic or forum and therefore the sidebar is gone aswell.
What have you defined as forum slug and what is the name (path) of your page?
Thanks but that does not help me at all.
I know how to install bbPress.
As i said i created a own page and added the bbPress shortcode to it.
The problem is with the forum slug. If i set it up to the page with the shortcode then it will just overwrite the page and the sidebar is gone.
If i give it another slug then it will redirect to that if you click on a topic or forum and therefore the sidebar is gone aswell.
Thanks
Okay just found it. I had to create a page with this shortcode:
[bbp-forum-index]
And then select the sidebar.
Is this the correct way?
Edit 1: Okay yeah this is the correct way. I just wonder if the login widget that is used here, is included in the enfold theme? Seems like it’s called “avia_login_widget-2” but i can’t find something like this.
Edit 2: Well maybe not the correct way cause if i click on a forum or thread, i get redirected to the /forums page which does not have that sidebar. When i set the forum root to “support-forums” which is the name of the page i created with the bbPress shortcode, it just overwrites the page and therefore the sidebar is gone again.
Thanks
Thank you very much Ismael :)
Hey Ismael,
The problem is that the Freshness column is not in the correct position.
I would like it to have it as you have it here (on this support forum)
Thank you very much
Hey,
i would appreciate it if someone could come up with a fix for this.
Just updated to the latest bbPress and Enfold but still have the same problem.
Thanks
Hey Ismael,
now everything is messed up. Not sure whats wrong there.
Thank you very much for your assist.
This reply has been marked as private.Ah okay i had it in the cache.
However every second post in a thread, and every second forum is still white. Would be nice if you could post the css for that too.
Also some other elements which are not that imporant if Kriese provides a update.
Thanks
Hello,
no that does not change anything.
http://gewora.net/forums/topic/gewora-is-now-live-3/
I also do not think that this is the way to handle this.
It worked fine until the bbPress update so there is anything wrong now.
Thanks but that won’t help much.
The forums background should not be white. And take a look at a thread then you see the problems.
Thanks
I did in the other thread.
Whats with my problem?
Do you have a solution for that?

Hey,
sorry for the late replay.. Well a very good looking one is this:
http://fotohost.kz/images/2013/08/25/GQj6R.png
Off course it has a 3 sub level, unfortunately i can’t demonstrate them, but as you may thought, if you click on a entry with sub levelsm then it will open.
It look’s so much better, and very structured.
Unfortunately i can’t give the url out since it is private at the moment.
But i did not modified anytinhg. I just added the code from above to the quick css, so you should be able to get exact the same result ;)
Thanks :)
Thanks :)
Feels a bit weird talking english on a german forum ^^
Aber was solls :P
Thanks i will try this tomorrow.
Anyways a reply from Kriesi would be nice :)
Thanks
Okay the new update just got released.
Now it is working fine again :)
Hey,
i there was a database upgrade too, so i think just overwriting the files will not go well.
Anyways i guess i will just wait and hope there will be a fix soon.
Thanks
Michael
Hey.
thanks this works, but in my opinion it looks still not pretty good.
Can i also expect that it will work on the left side too soon?
Cause i really want it on the left side.
Thanks :)
