Found and installed child theme. Starting a new thread with an issue about the Enfold Options screen not showing a field.

It is there. Now I need to create a child theme for the new site. Do y’all have documentation that will walk me through how to do that? If so, a link there would be great.. . I’ll go check documentation page now as well.

JonPlease forgive my ignorance here . . . I believe you are saying that I do need to copy each folder/subfolder . . . but do I also need to copy/paste the contents of each folder?
Again, apologies for being a bit ignorant on this . . . I’ve crashed my site a few times because I ddin’t ask enough questions.
JDo I need to only copy that one file? Not the folders and sub folders (and the files they contain) that lead to it?

OH I see . . . the form is disappearing, so it LOOKS like it is scrolling down . . . it’s just not staying at the top of the page. I’ll look for that code and insert the update.

Wordpress is up to date. Enfold is up to date. Firefox and Chrome are up to date. OS is the latest.

I am testing the form from my website, using both Firefox and Chrome (both up to date), but on a brand new, updated, MacBook Pro
I’ll do a screencast (video) of what is happening as soon as i figure out how.

The Message Received box is still not seen due to the page scrolling to the bottom. Is there a fix for this? Could not find in documentation search.

I am testing now. Any idea on how to get the Message Sent message page to not scroll to the bottom? (the form disappears, then scrolls to the bottom so that nobody can see the :Message Sent: Contact me at [my email address] if you don’t hear back in 24 hours” message).

Update: My sister filled out the form and I did receive the email (she has an @hotmail.com account). I tried from my hotmail account and it worked as well. My buddy used his @yahoo account. So, I do receive it when I use my business email (@gatehealing.com) and hotmail, but @yahoo isn’t working, and potentially some others as well (I don’t know how many others haven’t heard from me).

I put a note in the box that appears in place of the form (Message Sent) directing people to email me directly or call me if they dont hear back within 24 hours, but I have noticed that when I fille out the form and submit, the page scrolls down to the bottom and the note is off the screen up top. Is there a way to keep the view at the top of the page after they submit? I’m using Firefox browser in case that matters (update: this also happens in Chrome).

JOnI found a way around. .. I think the only differnce in your shortcode was the curly quote. . . I googled “curly quote” and found a site that uses it and just copy/pasted it. ’

JonHmmm. When I copy the shortcode you provided and paste it into the text box, it drops in the white/grey striped box that you see in this thread (where your code is shown above). I cannot get that to go away. Could you post the code without that box?

Pesky curly quote! Do I have one of those on a standard MacBook Pro (new–2019) qwerty keyboard? I’ll copy/paste the shortcode you’ve provided.

The green box is about halfway down. You can see that in the title of the box there is no apostrophe. Here’s the shortcode that the Insert Theme Shortcode tool puts in (remember, this is all being done within a text box, so I have to use that magic wand icon to insert the shortcode):

I think I figured it out . . . due to shortcode, I cannot use the apostrophe ( ‘ ) in “Murphy’s Law” . . . that seems to throw things off. Is there a way around this? I will leave it without the apostrophe for now.
It appears that I can only publish posts using the Default Editor and not the Advanced Layout Editor. . . which is fine, so we can close this unless this shouldn’t be happening and y’all would like to look into it.

SEO folks said it’s probably better to leave them as-is since I already have -austin in the parent page of /family-dynamics.
We can close the thread. I can come back and re-post if this happens again, but I don’t think it will..

it’s not happening on other pages, so that’s odd. I think I can just copy the contents of this page, delete the page, then re-create it with the new URL and title.
Feel free to take a look though . . .it is definitely an odd behavior. May be interesting to learn what did it in case it happens to other folks.
