  • Mike, thanks for the reply.
    Since I sent the request for help, I made these updates:
    1. Updated to WordPress 6.6
    2 Reinstalled the Enfold theme
    Made these updates as instructed by my ISP:
    3 Enable leverage browser cache
    4 Enable compression
    5 Optimize database tables

    Unfortunately, I still get the spinner disc on the Advanced layout builder, but only on Pages, not Posts and Portfolio pages.
    I will contact my ISP for help with the PHP max input variables next, but if you have any other ideas, let me know.
    thank you! -Michael

    Ismael, I wasn’t aware that it was offline, but just check a minute ago and its working:

    How can I send you a screen shot through this interface?

    It’s working fine for me! Do you mind trying it again?

    Thanks!

    in reply to: Enfold child theme function.php #941134

    This worked for me (add to your functions.php):

    add_image_size( 'custom', 450, 338, true );

    (take out the ‘,true’ if you do not want the image cropped)

    One more question to add to the question above:

    Is it possible to move the content of the full width submenu into the content width including the padding inside the left and right links?
    And reduce padding to fit this amount of items?

    Thanks much in advance!

    in reply to: Menu bar state and hover #930276

    Mike,
    Thanks for the help on the sub menu
    After reviewing it, would it be possible to have the hover and active state be the background of the entire link, similar to how your pulldown menus work?

    The hover would extend the entire height of the bar, and the active state would be a color the full width and height of the link.

    Any advice would be appreciated!

    in reply to: Menu bar state and hover #928789

    Mike, Wow! Thanks for the help! Works perfectly now.

    A couple more questions if you have time:

    1 Main menu – change the color of the hover bar to be different than the active state.

    2 Can the full width menu bar be set to have hover and active state for the background of each menu item? for Instance a slightly darker gray then the background of the bar?

    Thanks much

    Mike, couldn’t get that bar to move up with the code.

    Here’s what I have in the css quick code:

    /*nav state bar*/
    .header_color .avia-menu-fx { border-bottom: solid 4px #64a6c4 !important; }

    /*move menu bar up*/
    avia-menu-fx { bottom: 15px!important; }

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Opps. I just placed it in the private content

    in reply to: widget menu vs. sidebar menu #902427

    That gets me the vertical border – Thank you! How do I get that sidebar border on every page that uses the widget menu? And then how do I remove those borders in between the nav links in the widget menu?

    in reply to: widget menu vs. sidebar menu #900985

    That is better – Thank you! There is still a border in between menu elements in the widget menu, and how do I get the vertical border on the left that the sidebar has? Thank you again!

    Sorry,
    I reset the password now.

    in reply to: Restore Portfolio posts #750786

    Sorry, was away in Cuba all December and getting back to this project now.
    I updated WordPress, Updated to the latest version of Enfold, closed all plugins and ran ‘Regenserate thumbnails plugin. It fixed the thumbnails on the 1st page of the media list, but all beginning on the second page, all other thumbnails don’t show in the media library, or if I try to insert an image into a page.

    Any other ideas on how to fix this?

    in reply to: Restore Portfolio posts #718586

    Nikko,
    Added ftp access below.
    I ran these tests:
    restored the site, including database from an earlier version.
    set the theme to a default theme – the media library was visible again
    uploaded new versions of the enfold theme and child theme
    – now the media library is about half visible and the other half looks as though all the thumbnails and photos are broken.

    thank you

    in reply to: Restore Portfolio posts #718063

    Discovered that the plugin that hides the Portfolio items is:
    Admin Menu Editor
    When this one is turned off, the ‘Portfolio items appear in the dashboard.

    But the bad news is that all the thumbnails and photos in the media library are not showing.
    I tuned off all the plugins and re-installed the theme, but the entire media library shows no photos.
    Is there a fix fro this?

    Any help would be appreciatred.

    Nikko, I was just trying to find a way to reset the Portfolio items in order to use them in Masonry gallery. As it stands, the categories don’t show when creating a Masonry gallery.
    No need to recover or restore any Portfolio posts, just trying to get back the functionality of the Portfolio Items.

    I upgraded to the newest version of Enfold and turned off the plugin that controls customs posts, but can’t find a way to get the Portfolio Items to show in the left dashboard.
    Any advice would be helpful.

    in reply to: Sub-menu bar hanging off page #546156

    Basilis,
    The site works great on FF mac.
    On Safari mac, even after clearing the cache, it still renders the submenu as full width first.
    On Chrome mac, the page content is shifted to the far left of the browser window rather than being centered.
    (also cleared the caches for all these tests).

    Thanks Dake,
    We removed the quick css and deactivated all the plugins, but still get the submenu problem.
    Appreciate your willingness to look under the hood.

    Ismael,
    Thanks for getting back to me.
    I just changed the settings to allow you to see the plugins.
    There are only a few.
    I set the socket background color to orange and it immediately changes on my browser, but when I change it again it stays orange for about 10 minutes before the new color shows.
    But changes to to pages in the layout editor show immediately.

    in reply to: General styling slow to update #386782

    Today I installed Enfold onto another completely separate server.
    After experimenting with changing the socket color, then flushing my cache, the socket color change still doesn’t show after clearing the cache on all browsers. Its unlikely that there would be two server came clearing problems, so I’m just wondering if there is anything in the theme that I can do to fix this. has anyone else noticed this problem?
    You help would be much appreciated.

    Yes, part of my original question is if it it on the server side, what is it?
    Since I can make immediate revisions to pages, refresh the page and see the revisions, what in the Enfold theme options would cache? Is the theme information different or stored in a different format?
    They tech support on the server will not know and they will ask this question.
    Do you know?
    Any help would be helpful. Thank you.

    If you mean the browser cache – yeas – I flush it every time. But NO, it doesn’t work.
    Just tested it. Changed the socket bar color, from gray to purple. Changed it back to gray, and its still purple on all browsers, even after flushing caches.
