I actually had the same problem a while ago. My contact form was set to send an email to (Email address hidden if logged out) which was a Shared Mailbox; however, after much testing and tweaking, we still never got emails to that address using the form.
As a result, I installed WP SMTP, created the same email address at my webhost. Then using the mailer information from the webhost, we were then finally able to use the forms to receive emails!

I followed the steps you sent me; however, it does not seem to load the one page demo. There are still no sublinks on the frontpage. :(
Maybe I don’t know how to “execute” the plugin?
thanks for your help Rikard … but I think I’ve come to the realisation that I don’t know what I’m doing and should hire someone lol … I have no idea where and how to activate debug mode. :(
