Figured it out…The Enfold updater work flow deletes custom.css. When I reinstalled my custom.cc files my site is working as before.
I updated to WP 4 then
I went out to Themeforest and got my Enfold api key which I entered into Enfold theme options/theme update
I went to the WP plugin update page and there was a message beneath the plugin updates to update the enfold theme to 2.9.2
After I updated, my site when blank, found out that the 2.9.2 updater deleted custom.css. I had bkup of my custom.css and reinstalled and all works now.
The enfold/theme option/general/quick CSS was not impacted by updating to 2.9.2Hi Please cancel this support thread.
I was able to update to latest version of Enfold and it is compatible with WP4
Hi,
I was able to resolve my problem. Optimizing images is not the correct direction. As I thought Enfold was resizing my images and creating the poor Google page test score ! why ? When using Enfold ‘blog post’ do not enable “set the image size automatically’, this sets in motion the resizing of the main image(which was 1860X1238)! instead use the ‘set the preview size manually’, then select a resized image. The Google speed test no longer shows these images in the Optimize image drop down.
I mentioned that I export with Photoshop, which already strips jpeg data.
I am using hyper cache, I own W3TC and had installed before I moved to Enfold. I deactivated W3TC until my theme design and content becomes stable. (It is a hassle clearing caches during debug process)
I was also getting the redirection errors…only with your ‘blog content’, masonry did npot have any issue.
When using 1.5.5.3 you could actually see your post auto populate with the last post in the series meta description, slug, and could watch it change the permalinks. Which because I have another plugin for redirects would autolaunch an alert saying that your permalink was redirecting.
The minute you deactivated 1.5.3.3 this would stop happening.
Are you going to put up an announcement on your service support header to advise your customers. This is a bad bug which can cause SEO damage, you can loose your meta description (I did),,,on your post.
For all the reasons on my prior thread I think its the socially responsible thing to do…..I’m glad I caught it on my own before it could do any more havoc.
The Yoast fix is not going to be released soon. They refunded my premium seo-wp, because they had no eta…

I contacted Yoast and their support team and engineers are aware of and are working on resolving the conflict with WP-SEO and Enfold.
For the moment, I’d recommend that Enfold make an announcement on their home page and advise that customers that who have installed wp-seo 1.5.5.3 fall back to version of WP-Seo 1.5.5 that can be found on https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/releases.
The process to fall back is easy.
1) download 1.5.5
2) In WP I’d recommend an export of your WP-SEO settings in 1.5.5.3 (just in case)
3) Upload via FTP v 1.5.5 into plugin folder
4) In WordPress Deactivate Version 1.5.5.3
5) In WordPress Activate version 1.5.5
6) Goto pages that you are using Enfold ‘Blog Content’ and dbl check that they have proper SEO meta description content and not imported content that comes from the ‘bug’. Rewrite Yoast SEO metadescription, keyword, permalinks, slugs as needed. This bug is a bad one, you may need to really clean up your page.
7) Resubmit page link to Google webmaster tools/Fetch as Google. Your pages that have been corrupted by this bug, your SEO is incorrect, and you have to be re-crawled, after you have updated step#6Hope that Helps
I am wondering ? Have you contacted Yoast to advise him of this issue ?
Did he give you any timeline for a new release ?You realize this is a MASSIVE bug. I have dozens of pages with content using your Blog post and the metainfo appears to all be autoloading from other blog posts ! This is not good !
My Home page description is totally inaccurate and I can’t revert back to the proper description…..
http://prntscr.com/4fnttkdescription should read:
FritzImages is focused on exploring creative outdoor photography at various Northeast travel locations, reviewing gear and providing a resource of experiences and information to like minded photographers.
Please help ! I need a patch that works…
This patch is not working for me….
I have followed the instructions provided like this.
1) add patch/fix to functions
2) open Page to edit
3) redo edits to Yoast SEO
4) update Page edits
5) Edits are not ‘taking’ the Page is still autoloading Yoast SEO info from other blog post.Ed
Okay, thanks for the detailed explanation, I don’t want to break my theme, So I won’t spend anytime moving it to footer.
thanks for the support
Thanks a lot, that did the trick !!
I was able to remove the re-sizing images from being created by Enfold theme simply by adding a /* at line 92 and */ at line 111 in the function.php. This was an easy and elegant solution to my needs. I was looking for any easy way to disable the resizing prior to uploading over 50 large images to use in my portfolio via Lightroom and FTP with only one dimension required for use in the theme. I needed to easily turn on and turn off the resizing function. You may find this method useful for other customers in the future, rather than removing all those lines from functions.php…
I don’t know why //avia_backend_add_thumbnail_size($avia_config); did not work. But it gave me the idea to use my process above. Using the same logic, to comment out. I also deactivated the plug-in simple image sizes, one less plugin is a good thing.
thanks,
Ed
Really, Is enfold JS need at initial load above header… I was wonder if it could be loaded in footer and not header to assist with GS score. II was wondering what your experience was
You think I should delete all these definitions ?
http://prntscr.com/4dqsjt
that seems drastic to me.I suppose I could try one and then see if that image is still being created.
Maybe I should delete and not just deactive the Simple plugin
Maybe I should just change the values to zero in function php
What about commenting out one line in the function and see what happens?
ie: // $avia_config[‘imgSize’][‘widget’] = array(‘width’=>36, ‘height’=>36); // small preview pics eg sidebar newsYour thoughts on these ideas..

Miscommunication on my ;part. I have put a // in front to disable but it did not work. I still was creating all the resized images
thoughts ?
Hi Darin,
Thanks for the info.
But even after I disabled the Simple plugin.
Then changed my function.php with //avia_backend_add_thumbnail_size($avia_config);
and when I added a new image to my Library, all the Enfold images sizes still were generated !
Any ideas ?

This was an important feature for my website..I don’t know how you snagged the twentytwent CSS…but I think it took an extra effort on your part…thanks for that and not telling me that you can’t fix problems with 3rd party plugins…You went to the extreme, and I really appreciate it….

I’m not that good at figuring these things out without a lot of effort. I’ve tried plinking around with both CSS and figured it was easiest to modify the Enfold CSS.
Here are a few links where I am using this 3rd party plugin. You can see that the arrows are broken, I am assuming that they are inheriting the Enfold CSS, because I can modify and fix if I adjust the Enfold CSS
