Perfect! Thank you again! Have a nice evening.
It looks like the problem is solved. You can close the topic. Thanks
Update: I had the feeling that the database was the problem. I found some articles about Ionos having databases in different servers than webspace and if you have bad luck, you get your database in the wrong one. The trick is creating a new database and hoping you get a better connection. I optimized and cleaned my MySQL database (i had many tables from mailpoet although I had uninstalled it) and I exported it. I created a new Mariadb (as suggested by Ionos) and I imported the old MYSQL database. I connected the website with the new database and… the problem seems to be gone. I hope it is not just a coincidence and that the website doesn’t start again to go slowly. I will let you know in the next days. I think it could be interesting for other Ionos users.

Can it be that the speed sometimes is compromised because 1) the new website is not accessible publicly yet 2) the new website is saved and running in a subfolder of the “old” website that is still online?
PS: Just now 10:18 German Time the website is going faster and with normal speed. Is it possible that the problem has nothing to do with the website but whit the hosting performance?

Hello, I did already the optimization but it didn’t bring any result. Tried different settings with cache. Took pictures away to see if those were causing the problem: no difference. Absolutely nothing. It stays as it is. It takes always few seconds before the pages respond and get opened. I tested the website also with our terminal server that it is seated in another city far away from us and has 1 GB speed internet connection and the website shows the same problem. I wonder if you opened the website maybe in one of those moments where the website seems to go faster (but it lasts very short and in the last three days it didn’t happen anymore).
