February 25, 2019 at 5:05 pm in reply to: Can't get my Avia pagebuilder to work…. Amateur here…. #1071346
Hello Rikard,
Alright, let me be clear –
(1) you note that the featured image won’t ‘show if set in the sidebar. Yes, that was one problem I reported. Adding the image using an element is a work-around for a failed functionality. Of course that’s what I have resorted to, but I was hoping that you guys could fix the original functionality.
(2) I have never talked about excerpts. I see and understand the screen options tab, but that’s not what I have written about here. I’m not sure why you keep bringing it up.
(3) Most critically, as I have reported from early in this thread, the Blog Content Length option in the Blog Posts element DOES NOT WORK. That functionality appears broken on Enfold using the layout builder, and I don’t know what the manual command might be to show “full text” if using written commands in the block mode, because I don’t know where such commands may be found. I have described this earlier in the thread beginning on Feb 20.Please answer the questions I am asking, if you can, so I can make the blog function work as it is supposed to.
Thanks
February 23, 2019 at 5:38 am in reply to: Can't get my Avia pagebuilder to work…. Amateur here…. #1070560Can I get an answer to my questions, or should I start a new thread?
February 21, 2019 at 11:54 pm in reply to: Can't get my Avia pagebuilder to work…. Amateur here…. #1070144specifically, when I look at the text generated by the “blog post” in the pagebuilder, I see:
[av_blog blog_type='posts' categories='1' link='category' blog_style='single-big' bloglist_width='' columns='3' contents='excerpt' content_length='content' preview_mode='auto' image_size='portfolio' items='1' offset='0' paginate='yes' conditional='' av_uid='av-jsbabex4']
So if I wanted to “manually” fix this to show full content, what would I enter? It now says contents=’excerpt’ and content length=’content’ So what would I enter there to make it show the full text of the post, since the automation isn’t functioning?
February 21, 2019 at 7:29 am in reply to: Can't get my Avia pagebuilder to work…. Amateur here…. #1069809Hello. Could you explain what you mean by “add manually”? I’m not a website coder; I bought Enfold because the Layout Builder was supposed to make that simpler for a person like me. I am using it.
I can certainly see the “featured image” link on the right side of the page; my point is that entering an image there doesn’t work reliably to show up on the page. If there’s a manual way of doing that, please tell me what it is.
And as I’ve said, I need the blog function to allow me to display the full text. I’m trying to get the blog page functionality to implement the “full” option so it will display blog posts instead of doing a small piece and then”read more”. That’s not working in the layout builder. I also can’t add it manually because I don’t know what command to enter into the text block to make that happen… it doesn’t say anywhere I can see. If you know, please tell me, but also it’d be nice if Kriesi had a fix for the layout builder to work.

February 20, 2019 at 5:24 am in reply to: Can't get my Avia pagebuilder to work…. Amateur here…. #1069263Hi, this is over a week later, and in the meanwhile I’ve had everything updated to the newest versions, per your suggestions. The Avia Layout function is no longer invisible… but it also doesn’t seem to reliably work, so I’m back here again.
Specifically, Hi, I’ve recently decided to do a simple blog, and Enfold doesn’t seem to be working the way it’s supposed to.
(1) in the main blog page, the “featured image” doesn’t show up
and
(2) the “blog posts” content element doesn’t implement the “full text” of a post even when that box is clicked as a choice. Rather, it always shows a small piece with a “read more”, which isn’t the way I’d like to do it. I’d like to get it to work as designed. These are parts of Enfold’s functionality which led to our using it.So any help will be appreciated; I’ll add a little private content so you can view what i tried to do:
February 9, 2019 at 9:46 am in reply to: Can't get my Avia pagebuilder to work…. Amateur here…. #1064905PS – just figured out how to enable “superAdmin’ and added it to the temp user above
February 9, 2019 at 9:44 am in reply to: Can't get my Avia pagebuilder to work…. Amateur here…. #1064904Yes, I still need the original help requested, that the Avia page builder doesn’t work.
I’m not sure what’s not working for you; is it the log-in information? I just now logged into the site using the second password generated above; the user name and password is repeated below in the private content box.I note that when logged in as that user, it only lists the main site and the bottleneck site, apparently I’d need to go through and add it to all the daughter themes… but try it out, the same problem should be manifest in all of them. The one I was trying to get to work was bottleneck foundation. Perhaps I needed to do something to give you access to all of the nested sites… as a super-admin? Not sure where to click to do that
but yeah, I still can’t make a new page

February 9, 2019 at 2:39 am in reply to: Can't get my Avia pagebuilder to work…. Amateur here…. #1064815…and the next update in this ongoing saga is that Dreamhost, at my request, turned Enfold back on, so the site is now visible again.
They tole me that the information they sent means that our IP address had been flagged and banned for an hour, which is presumably why the site when down while I was working on it. I’m not really sure why that happened.best
February 9, 2019 at 1:50 am in reply to: Can't get my Avia pagebuilder to work…. Amateur here…. #1064812DAMN! I had send a support ticket to Dreamhost when the site was down, and apparently their technician has installed a DIFFERENT theme which doesn’t allow our website to show! I hope it can be recovered. Here’s what they said (and I emailed and asked them to undo it).: pasted in secure box below
February 8, 2019 at 10:10 pm in reply to: Can't get my Avia pagebuilder to work…. Amateur here…. #1064771OK, the domain is back up… perhaps that was a DNS issue with Godaddy.
I generated a new password for the temp user, belowFebruary 8, 2019 at 8:57 pm in reply to: Can't get my Avia pagebuilder to work…. Amateur here…. #1064765See the private info below…. but basically while I was creating the admin log in for you, the thing crashed when I tried to save it and now the entire domain is invisible. Wha….?
February 8, 2019 at 3:57 am in reply to: Can't get my Avia pagebuilder to work…. Amateur here…. #1064395… a bit of additional information to my post… seems like any page which was previously created shows the Avia page layout stuff BELOW the “block navigation”, though I can’t tell if it works right. If a new page is created, the Avia doesn’t appear at all, just the “block navigation” which seems to have no element of WYSIWYG to it. What’s the deal? My website host Dreamhost has upgraded WP a couple times since I checked this functionality.
This prevents me from doing updates I’ve promised… I hope someone knows what’s up here.
thanks
September 15, 2014 at 7:17 am in reply to: Second-level nav/menu bar encroaches on full-width layerslider #319042same page, same link as above, must sign on using the passwords given. FlipperFund page. Currently turned back off. But really, try it yourself. Can you insert space between the header and the full-width layerslider in an enfold site? If so, how? I think the question, at least, is simple. We have been unable to so far.
September 14, 2014 at 7:15 am in reply to: Second-level nav/menu bar encroaches on full-width layerslider #318800Well, not to be obvious, but I’m trying to pad the menu so it doesn’t overlap the layerslider, by adding a bar of white for it to overlap instead. The bar it adds is too thick though.
September 13, 2014 at 10:45 pm in reply to: Second-level nav/menu bar encroaches on full-width layerslider #318646Tried -1, that still leaves seemingly more than an entire inch of white space inserted. I need to be able to add fractional inches.
September 13, 2014 at 10:34 pm in reply to: Second-level nav/menu bar encroaches on full-width layerslider #318639Actually, I’d better not mess with it while waiting for my web guru to implement that last suggested command.
Maybe you could tell me – what negative number corresponds to zero white space, or to the minimum that element will display? It did seem to work but I couldn’t get the white space any smaller than about an inch deep. Then again, I was using basically made-up negative numbers, not knowing the acceptable range.
thanks
September 13, 2014 at 9:26 pm in reply to: Second-level nav/menu bar encroaches on full-width layerslider #318622Quick question while I’m waiting for our web designer to input that code…
In the avia layout builder, there’s a “separator/whitespace” option in the content elements which I didn’t see in earlier versions of the theme, maybe it was just me.
However, I can’t get the thickness of the white space to go below about an inch, even with high negative numbers. What number corresponds to the smallest white space which can be inserted that way?
thanks
September 13, 2014 at 2:38 am in reply to: Second-level nav/menu bar encroaches on full-width layerslider #318404thanks, will try
September 13, 2014 at 2:30 am in reply to: Second-level nav/menu bar encroaches on full-width layerslider #318399No, that’s not a workable solution I’m afraid. It is important that those menu items be VISIBLE for the navigation to work. Having it disappear entirely except for an obscure little box doesn’t cut it.
Is there any way for me to work around this other than tediously adding a strip of blank white to every image in every layerslider used? A way to pad it so the buttons stay visible on all computer browser sizes? Inserting a bit of white padding between menu and layerslider would seem the best bet. But we haven’t found a way.

September 13, 2014 at 2:18 am in reply to: Second-level nav/menu bar encroaches on full-width layerslider #318392There is apparently a flaw in enfold dealing with the full-width layer slider, when the 2-level top menu is used. Please keep looking at the examples I’ve showed UNTIL you see it. It is a major problem our programmer has tried and failed to find a workaround for. The only ones who can’t seem to see the effect are Kriesi moderators. Please help me be less frustrated – give me a phone number to call, or just look at the stuff provided, really look, read what I’ve said, and please help. There is no way in english I can think of to describe it any better, and you have a picture of it as well as access to the site. Please do not assume no problem exists.

September 13, 2014 at 2:12 am in reply to: Second-level nav/menu bar encroaches on full-width layerslider #318389How are you not seeing it after I just described it? Look at the buttons. Look at the dolphin picture, the buttons are overlapping it. Please count them, there are 8 menu buttons and some of them are inside the dolphin image. We need to allow the user to see them
Is there no way I can get tech support on this? The site is built on enfold but can’t go live while it’s screwing up this badly.
