Sorry to jump in on this post – I had a similar issue on another thread and was directed here for the solution.
This fix sort of works. If I fill in the “Image Title Attribute” under the “Advanced Options” section of an image, the text shows up as a caption underneath the image. This is good. Thank you!
By “sort of works” I mean, if there is no “image title attribute” on any other images in the post, then it shows the text from the image that has that field filled in.
EXAMPLE: if I have a picture in a post of a cat with the “image title attribute” of ‘cat’, it shows as a caption in the lightbox. As it should be.
If I have a picture of a dog, a pig and a cow after the cat picture, the “caption” in the lightbox says “cat”.The fix also does not apply to the featured image caption, which is included in the post’s lightbox gallery. The featured image shows the title of the article as the caption. I want it to show the caption of the image. Then I won’t have to duplicate the featured image in the article. Yes…I can tick the “Don’t display image on single post” under the featured image and then add it again to the post, but I don’t think that’s an efficient use of resources and requires the pic to load again. Many other issues with this as well.
Hi again,
Is there any news on this?
Thanks!@absurdity69 (nice name). I have not looked for the latest and greatest. I’m hoping this can be sorted out within the theme so I don’t have to load yet another library of code into the site. And have to maintain it.
In the past I’ve used jquery colorbox (http://wordpress.org/plugins/jquery-colorbox/) but that was back in the day before this feature was built into most themes. It is highly customizable but hasn’t been updated in over a year so it’s life may be short. It might still work but there could be performance issues and who knows when it will ultimately break with some future WP update.
I hope I don’t have to go to an external plugin which is kinda why I’m being a bit of a nag about it.I have a description filled in already. For fun, I edited the description in the media library on one of the pics. Then I deleted that image from the post, and re-added it with the “new” description. Still not showing in the lightbox.
Different topic, but related – where is the setting to make the pics actual size in the lightbox? It is blowing them up WAY too big.But I don’t want a gallery. I have pictures inserted throughout the post and wordpress makes them into a gallery when a user clicks on one of the images in the post. Usually the caption or description shows up under the image.
Thanks – I don’t have that option because it isn’t technically a gallery. It is a bunch of pics that have been added to a post. WordPress creates a gallery out of them. I have entered the caption in the alt, title, caption and description fields but it still doesn’t show up under the image in the lightbox.
Thanks for your reply.
I am not creating a gallery. WordPress makes a gallery by default of all the images in a post. Then when a user clicks on pic in the post, the lightbox shows up. I want to have the captions show up under the image. I have put the text in the alt, the title, the caption and the description fields. Doesn’t show up under the image. WHich field do I need to enter the text in to get it to show under the image in the lightbox?
Thanks
Ok. I guess there’s nothing you’ll be doing about it then. Good to know.
How do I get captions underneath images on the lightbox gallery like you have on your demo gallery page, (4th picture on the 3rd gallery)
Thanks
or tried to :-)
No. I only have one computer. I have tried it in several browsers though and IE is the only one with an issue. I don’t think it is a computer problem.
I locked my site down – it is in development.
I tried it on your demo site and got the same result.
This is the url I typed in:
http://kriesi.at/themes/enfold/shortcodes/gallery/adfs .This is what showed up on the page (except in text – I put it in a code block here):
(Email address hidden if logged out) ","i18n_select_state_text":"Select an option\u2026","i18n_required_rating_text":"Please select a rating","i18n_no_matching_variations_text":"Sorry, no products matched your selection. Please choose a different combination.","i18n_required_text":"required","i18n_view_cart":"View Cart \u2192","review_rating_required":"yes","update_order_review_nonce":"d247e46e52","apply_coupon_nonce":"54912cbae2","option_guest_checkout":"yes","checkout_url":"\/themes\/enfold\/wp-admin\/admin-ajax.php?action=woocommerce-checkout","is_checkout":"0","update_shipping_method_nonce":"1eda5d223a","cart_url":"http:\/\/kriesi.at\/themes\/enfold\/cart\/","cart_redirect_after_add":"no"}; /* ]]> */ Scroll to top

It seems that they don’t work in IE11. When I try to browse to a ‘bad’ url in IE, it shows some code. No, I am referring to the inability to FIND that using the search bar and also getting a text version of it.
What is the link to that and how do I find it using the a search bar in the documentation?
Thanks!
Thanks. I know I seem like a dunce, but I’m really not. I have purchased and used other premium themes so this isn’t my first rodeo. For some reason I just couldn’t see the “content” tab on the layout editor. I think clearing cache probably helped.
That said, I have already done what you suggest and thank you. Where is the documentation on ‘how to create a template from an avia layout builder’? I hope it isn’t buried 10 minutes into a video about “How to build a layout on a page!” :-)I have a bit of a problem finding what I need in the documentation and the search functionality isn’t helpful. While videos are nice for some applications, I usually just want a quick answer (or even a numerated “how to” in text format) and not have to sit through a long video to get the one sentence answer I needed.
I’m sure I can muddle through but just need to allot far more time than anticipated. I hope this improves so I can purchase again for another client, but right now I’m a bit frustrated with it.Don’t get me wrong – it is a very nice theme and I appreciate the prompt response I get on the forum. Thanks again.
Ok…got it. Duh. My eyes weren’t working properly :-)
Thanks again for your help!Hello! Thanks for your quick reply!
Where does one find that screen? I do not see ‘avia layout builder’. Also, it would be cool to be able to build a template available for all pages, not just the one.But my first problem is that I do not see where to access the layout builder. I have done a fresh install of the 2.8.1 and use the basic child theme. Is there an additional plugin I need to install?
Thanks!
