Hi Andy . . . Thanks for getting back to me on this!
In a nutshell, the problem is that the page elements themselves seem to be responsive, but the text size within the box is not.The text boxes themselves, within layout elements of a set width–1 col., 2 col, etc.–remain at that width when screen size or resolution changes.
But the text itself does not readjust in size to maintain the depth of the text box, and that is what is screwing up my site. If you set sizes on the desktop screen, when others look at it on their laptop at a lower resolution, the text is huge and pushes other element down and off the bottom of the screen. Design for proper proportions on the desktop screen, and when viewed on the desktop screen the elements scrunch together to the point where where the headline below the slider actually goes partially behind the slider.
I have included screenshots links in Dropbox in the private info area so you can see the problem. Thank you so much for your help!
Dave
Good morning . . . I hate to dredge this thread back up, but I was assigned to some other projects and am only now getting back to this one. I am not having any luck with any of the advice given above.
I’ve tried adding the specified code to the “Theme Functions (functions.php)” file via the editor module as Andy suggested, with no resulting change in the responsiveness of the text box, so I removed the code from there.
I also tried adding it to the “functions-enfold.php” file via the editor module, again with no resulting change in the responsiveness of the text box. So I removed it from there, also.
The font size in the text box is set to default, as Ismael suggests above, also with no change.
Responsive design IS turned on in the Enfold preferences.
As near as I can tell, none of the text boxes on my site are responsive, but it’s the main box at the top left of my home page that is causing the most problems. Our CEO wants a solution to this problem and I am at wit’s end! I need a solution that doesn’t involve tons of coding experience because I don’t have that. I need to implement responsive sized text boxes across my whole site so that the layout will look the same at different resolutions, whether large desktop screen or laptop resolution.
The link to the relevant page is in the private section. I can supply login page link, username, and password if needed.
Thank you so much for ANY help I can get on this! :-)
DaveHi Ismael . . . At the URL I provided above, I have cleared all styles in the main text block that begins “Jaeger and Flynn Associates is committed . . . ” and then set the font size at default, as you suggest. But when I preview the page, the problem persists and the text is still not responsive. At 1366×678 the type is the same depth as the slider at right, but at 1920×1024 it still shrinks so that it is only about half the depth of the slider.
Also, when I look further at Yigit’s suggestions above, I find that the code he includes above already seems to be in my functions.php file:
/*
* add option to edit elements via css class
*/
// add_theme_support(‘avia_template_builder_custom_css’);I did not add this code . . . Did Yigit? Also I find this mystifying, since I see no extra Custom CSS class option in the pop-up menu for my text element.
Dave
Thanks for your response, Ismael . . . I am trying to modify my entire site so that the text will be responsive. I have designed with a target screen resolution of 1366 x768, as seems to be conventional, and that looks fine on laptops. But on 1920×1024 desktop screens the images re-size, but the text does not and all shrinks. I would like everything consistent and responsive.
The current developmental home page URL is included in this post’s private content.
The most obvious expression of the problem is the main text at left, which ends even with the bottom of the slider on 1366×768, but shrinks a lot at 1920×1024.
Thanks so much for the response! Forgive me if I’m really nervous about messing with the functions.php file. I know very little about code.
To activate the custom css class field, do I just add this line of text to the bottom of all the other text in this php file? Or does it need to be plugged in at some specific place?
Also, would I then need to add a shortcode to every text layout element in order to make that particular element responsive? Or would this procedure you are describing make all text on the site responsive across various screen resolutions?
Thanks . . . Dave
I used this procedure and solved my own problem with maps rendering and they work again. Thanks to all of you folks at Kriesi support! Yet another time you have justified the investment I’ve made in your services! You guys ROCK!

Kriesi Support ROCKS!
January 26, 2016 at 3:16 pm in reply to: How to make nested submenu type smaller than main submenu? #572151This worked great. Thank you so much!
Last question! . . . Is there anything I can do to put a background color in the submenu box when it pops up? As it is now, the submenu appear in front of some other text on a white background and it looks confusing. It would be perfect if I could control the background color.
Thanks!
January 25, 2016 at 8:28 pm in reply to: How to make nested submenu type smaller than main submenu? #571593Follow up to my earlier message . . .
It works very well, except that the popup submenu text comes up way too small. . . . . . I am assuming the 32pt font size cited in the CSS you included above refers to the main submenu text size. But there is no numerical value included for the popup SUBMENU text size. Is there a way for me to control the size of the popup nested submenu text? Is this CSS just telling the page to pull the the type size from another setting that I could go adjust in the control panels?
Is the smaller font size in the dropdown adjustable? The CSS you gave me works great but the dropdown type is way too small.Thank you!

January 19, 2016 at 8:55 pm in reply to: How to make nested submenu type smaller than main submenu? #568104Thank you, Sir! I will give it a try and see what we get.
Looks like I had 3.4.6. I just updated to 3.4.7 . . . Do you mean the username/password I provided do not work?
Thanks for your response, Vinay . . . I’m not using any custom styles for these elements. They are totally stock layout and content elements dragged from the builder menu. Also no changes to the heading styles. The only vaguely unusual items are using some spacers with negative values to close up horizontal open spaces between the slider/color section, the heading, and the full width submenu. But the popup options menu for the separator seems to say it’s OK to do that, as it refers to being able to use negative values. But that seems to be the problem area. I insert a separator, program the values, then hit preview and it looks good. But after I actually update the page and look at it again, the whitespace has come back–or even gotten larger. I’ve checked the other adjustable custom margin elements to see if there might be a conflict there, but everything seems OK.
I went back in this morning and managed to get it to look the way I want–but I’m not sure exactly how. The spacer at the very top that I had deleted yesterday, had now re-appeared! So I deleted it again, the preview looked correct and consistent, so I updated the page and called it a day for any more experimentation on this page.
Everything else in the theme has worked flawlessly, as I expected it to when I chose Enfold for it’s large user base and thorough support. I’m wondering now if this might be more a problem with my Firefox browser than it is with the theme or WordPress. I don’t have any screen shots but if it does this again I will make sure to get plenty of them and send to you.
Thanks, Elliott . . . I’m first going to investigate what other options are possible within the currently available tools. I think tabs or three-across icon lists would do the job, though it might not look quite as clean graphically. We’ll see . . . Thanks for your help!
Dave
Thanks for the reply!
Yes, I see the full width submenu element. But there does not appear to be any way to use it within a smaller layout box (in this case, 1/3) or within a color section. When I try to drag it there it just won’t go. My three buttons are within 1/3 boxes, which themselves are within a large color section. I would need a menu to popup for each button and some way to configure the menus.
As for the thread link you include that provides the HTML, I appreciate it, but I don’t know much about HTML and have no idea what the functions.php file is or where it is on my machine. I was hoping for something that is executable through the layout builder.
Is there some way to do that with this HTML you have provided?
Can this HTML be added to the Quick CSS window under general styling for the theme?
Thanks.
DaveAbsolutely obvious . . . No wonder I missed it! :^)
Thank you, Sir!
