Hi Ismael,
Good to know :) For now, we resized the image to 1220×358 and it works now.
Thanks!
Hi Elliot,
What is the ideal size that the image should be for the slider?
I have looked at the theme demo and it is using this image (which is 1600×470): http://ownyourbrain.org/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-layerslider/LayerSlider/avia-samples/slide1_Layer_1.png
… but , that background image gets cropped.
Is 1220x470px wide the best dimensions?
Hi Elliot,
Thanks for your quick reply!
I have it set as you mentioned, but the image is being “cropped”.
Should I change the settings further, or edit the image?
Here is a screenshot of settings: http://screencast.com/t/3KqUwRnwwh
Thanks!

Thanks for letting me know about the update — I’ll take care of that :)
I think it’s because I started with shortcodes and then moved to the editor and it was bit wonky ;)
I deleted all content and started over and the editor is much better now. Thanks for the tips!!
Have a great weekend!
November 7, 2014 at 12:26 am in reply to: Wrap content with color sections (different background) #347466Hi Yigit,
I added the code to functions.php, but the page is pretty buggy (I can’t switch from visual to text tab & sometimes the WYSIYG editor appears twice on the page).
Also, the colors are not going full width: http://ownyourbrain.org/about/own-your-brain/
Any ideas?

Bummer about no shortcodes for color sections, but I can understand.
We would like to have a page that looks somewhat like this: http://portsmouthparkingshuttle.com/
(different color backgrounds for different text parts).
Thanks!!

Any ideas?

Ahh.. that makes sense. I didn’t know I could drop things inside of the color section.
The editor is very buggy for me.. my content gets deleted if I switch back to basic editor.
Also, I can’t edit text blocks. Here is a screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/LiEUMK8XeN9 (no edit icon).
Here is the site: http://ownyourbrain.org/
Am I able to use color section with shortcodes instead? I think this would be better.
Thanks :)
Ah, that worked perfectly Yigit. Thank you!!

Thanks for the screenshots :)
How do I add text on top of the different backgrounds?
Thanks!!
Hi Yigit,
Sorry… the site is in maint. mode. I turned it off now.
Here is the the link: http://ownyourbrain.org/
Thanks!!
Hey Yigit!
I added the code, but the image hover is still there: http://screencast.com/t/4sh4Om6S
I even tried !important, but it didn’t work.
Any other ideas?
Thanks :)
Thanks Josue, I added it. Things look nice :)
Thank you for your help. Hope you had a nice weekend!
Hi Arvish,
We decided to not use the toggle/accordion on this page. Thanks so much for your help though :)
Hey Tung & Yigit,
Thanks for your suggestions. I finally got the page/site to look nice.
Thanks again!!

Hey Tung,
Thanks for chiming in! On all pages, I do want H2 to have a 40px margin-bottom, but not on page-id-3424.
I thought .template-page and .entry-content-wrapper were needed.
If not, what should the CSS read? How is this:
.page-id-3424 h2 {margin-bottom: 40px !important;} (don’t I need “!important” to override default theme setting?)Thanks!!
Hi Josue,
Sure thing. We have the site in ‘maint. mode’, which was why I didn’t include the first time. I disabled maint. mode and here is the page in question:

Hi Josue,
I added the code to functions.php in child theme and added the [clearfix] into the post.
The columns still seem to have issues: http://screencast.com/t/NWJis2ur6Vr
Any other ideas/solutions?
Thanks!!
Hi Josue, it didn’t work: http://screencast.com/t/p3IbPfeAatL

Thanks Josue, it does work, but is there another way to make the columns work without having a visible HR (line break)?
Thanks for your assistance :)!
Hi Josue,
Do I place this above and below the column shortcode, or just above it (or just below it)?
Thanks!!
Hi Josue,
Can you tell me what the shortcode is (so I can manually insert it)? When I use the visual builder it removes my content.
Thanks!
Hi Josue,
What are “color sections”?
Thanks!!
Fantastic!! Thanks again Yigit :) Have a great weekend!
Hey Yigit! Wow, thanks for the fast reply :) !!
It worked perfectly! Have a great day ;)
