The theme install/update has been tested on thousands of different instances and we’ve only had a handful of users have issues with updating.
The actual update function has been tested and is in place on hundreds of thousands of themes since its Envato’s and the theme just incorporates it.
If you are worried about updating from within WordPress you can update over FTP which takes under 5 minutes as well.
Hi!
You can either delete them or re-upload and write over them. Since its through a file manager it would probably be best to delete and re-install fresh.

DevinHi athanatos!
No, not with anything built in at the moment. The portfolio grid/element would need to be customized by a freelance developer to make that work well.

DevinApril 10, 2014 at 8:57 pm in reply to: Custom Post types inside Avia layout builder with child theme (filter code) #249928Hi shelteredinsound!
While the video is now outdated and not something we support any longer there is a filter for the $boxes array you can see on that file right after the data is set. So you can use the filter avf_builder_boxes within your child theme.

DevinHi!
It seems like the slow admin is the delay in the server responding to anything. Even going between dashboard areas took a full minute to get a server response. Once it responded it loaded quickly.
You can use a plugin like this one to watch what queries are running if you want to dig in a bit deeper http://wordpress.org/plugins/query-monitor/

DevinHey GOWD!
Those widget are getting cut off because the sidebar is adapting its size to fit the device but those widget are not. You can either find alternative plugions/implemntations for those widgets which are already responsive or try writing some css to do to so.
If you have related questions you can ask them in the same topic. If they are fairly unrelated we prefer them as separate topics.
Cheers!
DevinApril 10, 2014 at 6:26 pm in reply to: Major confusion and issues with Product Category Images, Product Thumnails #249875WooCommerce has the image size settings in WooCommerce Settings>Products in the “Product Image Sizes” section. The plugin then outputs those images into the pages.
You can choose for images to be cropped or not cropped.
Hi!
Child theme folders, and them folders in general shouldn’t have a space. That is probably the root of your issue. Eg, in your source the style.css is getting pulled from:
<link rel='stylesheet' id='avia-style-css' href='http://www.laxlibrary.com/wp-content/themes/LAXLibrary/style.css?ver=1' type='text/css' media='all' />
Best regards,
DevinHey reefcentraluk!
This is just how the theme encodes the icon font and there isn’t any quick fix we could offer to fix it. On the whole, the theme will never fully validate because of the cross browser support that is in place and some of these kinds of quirks with the html5 spec.
It has no impact on the sites SEO or functionality however.

DevinHi Miles!
No, not that I know of. I can’t see why that would ever need to happen since all it does is pre-populate the options in the styling tabs below the selections. Eg, there is no blank default since the theme selects one when you first install it.
Regards,
DevinHi moreleads!
The only solution is to use a different image. The fullscreen function means the image will always take up the full height and width of the screen when loaded. The cropping needs to happen in order to make that work.
If you want the image to be seen over the element to take up the full height/width of the screen then you can use one of the other fullwidth slideshow options.

DevinHi billboule!
Unfortunately the LayerSlider is only able to be added in as a fullwidth element right now. We are looking to add back in the regular LayerSlider shortcode functionality in a future update but for right now its disabled.

DevinHey!
There is also a more robust child theme in the big download you can get from your downloads on ThemeForest (the one that includes the PSD files).
The source debug information can be removed via function in the child theme as well http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/remove-avia-framework-debug-information/
Though its nice to keep in there so we can take a look at it when asking questions here on the forums.
Best regards,
DevinHi!
The only place to get an answer definitively would be your hosting provider. You can read up on htacess specs here: http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/howto/htaccess.html or possibly http://www.htaccesstools.com/

DevinApril 10, 2014 at 10:12 am in reply to: Image preview not showing in Blog Multiple image Gallery format #249698Hey!
As far as I know that is a default WordPress function so it wouldn’t be something that would get changed on the theme side. I’ll point Kriesi to the post anyway so he can take a look.
Best regards,
DevinHi!
Thanks for posting what worked for you! Not all hosts allow for the same settings in the htaccess but for those that do I hope this helps them :)

DevinApril 10, 2014 at 8:11 am in reply to: LayerSlider Shortcode not working – was working until I added another shortcode #249642The ALB is the Avia Layout Builder. Viewing previews is finicky, I can’t really help improve it for you right now since we’ve never gotten an overwhelming number of complaints on its usage.
For reliability in general I never use it when doing any projects for clients and I also don’t recommend using it either since even outside of with Enfold I’ve found it to be unreliable.
Hey Jeff!
You can add the entire tracking script to the google analytics field in the theme options. The theme only has a fallback in case users don’t add in the whole thing.

DevinApril 9, 2014 at 8:56 pm in reply to: Menu is displaying differently on other top level pages #249388Hi mattmorse!
First update to Enfold 2.6.2. Then, in your child theme make sure that if you have replaced the header.php that you re-replace that file with the new version from 2.6 and make any changes you previously had. The menu location and header setup moved in the parent file.
Cheers!
DevinHi redbarndesign!
Below the page title when editing a page you can change the permalink name as long as it doesn’t conflict with any other slug of another page.

DevinApril 9, 2014 at 8:52 pm in reply to: Major confusion and issues with Product Category Images, Product Thumnails #249385Hey vegaspro!
I’m still not quite clear on what the issue is from the video but image dimensions are handled in multiple ways depending on what you are trying to do. If its for the single product page the image is always going to be constrained by the width of the container the image is in but the source is from your settings in the WooCommerce settings.
If you want an image to be wider than the current container on the single product page you need to change the layout of your single product pages. For example: http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/change-woocommerce-single-product-page-layout/
This allows you to change the grid sizes within a function for your child theme.

DevinHi Swedfit!
It sounds like your hosting package isn’t quite robust enough to handle the extra strain from bbPress and more so BuddyPress. Talk to your hosting provider about what upgrade packages are available within your budget and what help it will have with BuddyPress specifically.
It could even be as simple as increasing your memory limit via one of these methods : http://www.dailyblogging.org/wordpress/increase-wordpress-memory-limit/

DevinHey!
The size of the thumbnails is set from the size of the thumbnails you set in Settings>Media>thumbnail size in WordPress as far as I know. You then control the size of the displayed thumb by how many columns you choose on that portfolio items ajax data.
I changed the column count to a higher number just now for that single item which shrunk the thumbnail and made it appear not blurry since its container is smaller.
If you change the thumb size that is generated by WordPress you will need to regenerate your thumbnails with this plugin: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/
If you want to make any feature requests for the theme you can do so here: https://kriesi.at/support/enfold-feature-requests/

DevinHi!
Can we see the site and page with the issue live?
Best regards,
DevinHi mrlreynolds!
Can we see an example of the issue page live?
Regards,
DevinHi!
You can try a fullwidth slider instead of the color section background for that element. The background elements don’t have any background visibility options with respect to the visible elements.
Cheers!
