With further looking the child theme custom css does work – I’d not cleared the cache and hard reloaded.

I’m still curious though as to why the base css file is overwriting the plugin styles. Is it just a coincidence that the same class was used?

Also, is there a better way to implement the custom styles as at the moment the plugin puts it’s style forward, base css overwrites them, and then the child theme css overwrites that.. doesn’t seem very efficeint to me!

Victoria – My initial question was regarding how the button on the Enfold contact form works. I think that is a fair enough question in this forum. The second part was asking for a pointer as to what may or may not be possible based on the answer to the first part (i.e. extra finctionality directly or via plugins etc.) – this is as you point out outside the scope of the forum but I was just hoping for a pointer in the right direction. However, thank you for taking the time to reply.

Hi, Thanks Victoria. I’ve re-made the widget using the shortcodes as suggested. This works!
Very strange – the Enfold widget doesn’t and this shortcode version and the one off version do work. In case Keisi or someone elase wants to look I’ve done a private test page (‘Google Map Tests’) that has both the Enfold Google Map widget and the one generated by the shortcodes (login credentials given previously still work).

Okay, that’s fine. However, the original issue (and arguably more important one given it’s to the outside world) remains that the Google Map doesn’t load. What is the solution?

I’ve reloaded the Enfold theme via FTP. All files successfully transferred. Now installed is version 4.3.1.

There is absolutely no change. No Google Map on the Contact page of the website and the ‘Disable JQuery Migrate’ and ‘Load JQuery in your footer’ items are still missing from the Performance tab of Enfold Child on the back end.

To clarify, there are still no caching plugins and I’ve cleared the browser before trying the site.

I’ve reset the login info – see private info below. I’ve double checked it and it works.

Regarding the ‘Load JQuery in your footer’ – I’m clearly missing something as I simply don’t see anything that says that in the Enfold Child – Performance tabs. I assume that this won’t be the issue anyway as the map is not in the footer but where exactly is this option? It’s not under any of the headings on that page – File compression, Disable Template Builder Elements, Disable Features.. none of them have it.

Thanks Ismael, I didn’t know that WP did that to BR tags (clearly!).

What you’ve said seems to work sometimes and not other times. I can’t give you access to my development site as it’s on a local server on my memory stick but for an example I’ve done some screenshots.

On a new page go into the Advanced Layout Builder, add a full width column and then add a Text Block. Add some text. Save and update.

Using the visual editor add a line break in to the main paragraph, and also between the two paragraphs.. save and update.

It renders like this

The breaks have been added within the paragraphs, but the extra one between the two paragraphs (the 2nd one starting ‘List straight after..’) hasn’t been added…

Re-work of the previous post as it stripped out the code tags!..

Thanks for the reply. I understand that you can use the TEXT and VISUAL tabs of the toolbar to enter the different entry screens. I still have an issue though..

Go to the TEXT tab of a text block. Enter some text then opening code tag <br> closing code tag to add an extra line break in. Go back to the VISUAL view and a small grey square is shown to indicate the code – great! Now, Save and update. The live view of the page looks okay, but now go back to the edit screen, go to the TEXT tab. All it now shows the opening and closing code tags with the <br> tag having disappeared! Where’s it gone!?

Is this a bug or am I entering the tag incorrectly? It seems crazy to have the actual code disappear!

Just spotted the Toolbar Toggle! That sorts out the h1, h2 etc., but can you add <br> and things like that inline in the text box?
