  • in reply to: PHP 7 / Theme Breaks #1055810

    Hi graphicwise —

I am also using Enfold and have upgraded the server to PHP 7 without any issues. I did encounter an issue with a page that had an Advanced Layer Slider when I tried PHP 7.2. However, neither PHP versions broke the Advanced Layer Slider that displayed on the homepage. Only when trying PHP 7.2 did I have an issue on a separate page.

Have you tried the PHP Compatibility Checker plugin? You can easily run a scan of your theme and plugins before ever changing/upgrading. If issues are found it will generate a report and identify what and where there are incompatibilities.

I have downgraded to PHP 7 and the issue posted was resolved. So, it’s not an issue with PHP 7 but is with PHP 7.2.

Can I re-word my question if that is the problem?
I’m trying to set a link to content within a Content Slider. The URL I’m trying to link to in the Content Slider ends in: /#next — but that anchor link only opens the beginning of the slider. Is there a way to do this? I’ve searched the Enfold forums dating back quite some time and see that this has been asked more than once but never answered or resolved.

It’s not the Layer Slider — it’s linking to content posted within the Content Slider, but not on (slide/page 1), but accessible only if you use the arrow to advance the slider.

    Hi Mike —

Unfortunately, it’s not a Layer Slide – It’s the Content Slider. How do I create a link in a menu item that will go to the ‘Next’ page of a Content Slider? The URL for a second page in a content slider is: …pageaddress/#next, but simply adding ‘/#next’ doesn’t work and only opens the beginning of the content slider. I would like to use an anchor link to go directly to content that is in the Content Slider, but only visible when using the scroll to next button.

Same type of idea as in the Layer Slide, but in this case there isn’t a slide number reference, but a URL that shows /#next when navigating through the Content Slider. If my Content Slider only has two slides, I should be able to link directly to the 2nd slide by copying the URL which ends in /#next — but no luck.

    Thanks

    Hi Jordan —

Would it make any difference if it was added under ‘Additional CSS’ under the ‘Customize’ option?

    Hi Jordan —

I’ve added it into the Quick CSS box under General Styling, but it hasn’t changed. Text color entered into the Search Box is still white on a #eee background.

    Hi Jordan —

    The link is: http://www.doryfleet.com
Currently the background of the Search Box is #eeeeee and the text color when entering a search item/phrase is #ffffff (I’m guessing on the callouts but either way it’s not readable.
The header, footer and drop downs are all set as desired, but if I could either make the background blue, or the input text blue it’d be readable.

    Thanks,
    Dave

in reply to: Media Library Issue #745842

    Hi Rikard —

Yes, I see you were able to upload the logo. I was able also to upload some images, but others still return the HTTP error. I’m simply using the Media Library drop and there doesn’t seem to be any reason why one works and another doesn’t. I have a 57k jpg file that just returned an HTTP error when using the Media Library.

I’m bypassing the problem by installing sliders that allow me to use images via a URL, so I just upload graphics to the server. That workaround isn’t ideal, and it isn’t an option for certain WP functions. Again, I can upload an image, get the HTTP error, but still use the image, even if it’s grayed out, but only as a ‘standalone’ image, it can’t be used within an Easy Slider or other media content.

I did speak to my hosting company the other day and I also tested uploading images to a couple other WP sites I manage, no problem. They use different themes, but I tried one of the same images that I could not upload to Enfold. I know it isn’t a file size issue as I just successfully uploaded a 125k file, but then got the error with a 60k image. Is there anywhere that might restrict me to (x uploads per hour) or file size over a given time period? This doesn’t make any sense to me , thanks for your help.

    Hi Rikard —

Thanks. Below is a temporary login. While new image uploads appear to have the correct path as far as the ‘uploads folder, date, etc.), they are almost all getting an http error and show a gray icon. While they don’t initially appear in the Media Library, I can view the Media Library by date and the grayed file appears. I can even use it as an image as displayed in the Portfolio pages I am currently working on — however, the uploaded images cannot be used in any of the new slideshows I try to create.
