Okay. Thanks for the update.
Ah, of course. Thank you!
That seems to have worked! Thank you. But can you tell me, why is there so much white space below my gallery?
Dang! It’s happening again! On a site with the all the plugins updated, an updated theme, the latest version of WordPress. I have deactivated the WPMU plugins. The error message references layer slider specifically, and it references always those same lines of the functions.php file.
There are no line numbers in WordPress through. How can I at least find out what those lines of the functions file say?
Layerslider is not listed as a plugin. So I can’t specifically update that.
Please help!
Actually, no it wasn’t small at all yesterday. I think once again I have fallen for Chrome’s inability to refresh the CSS unless I do a hard reload while in developer mode!
I did that in the first message of this thread. Scroll up.
Here you go…
I set the color, the size, and the text-transformation
I just noticed that the release date on Hummingbird plugin was May 25th. And this thread was started on May 15th. And it was an issue for a couple of weeks before I wrote to you. So I don’t think that was why there was the number 1.
But it does look like Enfold resolved the layer slider thing with the 4.07 release. I updated all my plugins on a third Enfold site, and updated the theme too and the problem is gone. Thanks!
I’ll follow up on your advice and let you know how it goes. Thanks!
Thanks for checking into this.
The warnings appear for me after I update all the plugins. And the little red 1 in a circle shows as if a plugin needs updating even when there is no plug that needs updating. Please go back into one of the sites, go under Dashboard > Updates and select all of the plugins and update. It will automatically back up the site for me so let that happen. Then – when the plugins have updated, I think you will see the warning about Layerslider at the top of the updates page. And it will look like there’s still one plugin to update (because of the red dot next to plugins.)
Let’s focus on 2 accounts for this question. One had PHP 5.4 the other had 5.6. I’ve just updated both to 7.0.
Both had updated Enfold themes and both had updated plugins. (As you will see – it is when I update the plugins or themes that I get the error message. )I will re-submit login information for both sites in the private content section below.
You can login to update the plugs again if you need to see the error message first hand. Or, you can just look at what I pasted above.
I’m sorry – I didn’t realize I would have to manually approve the new user through my security plugin. I have done so now. Please try again to log in, update, see the warnings at the bottom of the updates page. I think you will also see that the number of plugins to update will always stay as one.
I don’t want to just ignore the warnings! I never used to get them and now I am and I want to know why I am getting them in the first place. They only happen with Enfold websites. It signifies that something is happening and finding out early could prevent future issues.
It only happens when I choose to update the plugins. In Private Content is another site that uses Enfold – it’s in development. Go ahead and login and update the plugins. I’m betting you will see the message at the end of the dashboard > updates.
Or you can just scroll up to my first message in this thread and read them there.
What’s so special about the functions.php file and lines 4787 and 4790?
I just reset the password to what I gave you in the private content area.
OK. See private content.
More info. I think this for sure relates to my support message from earlier today: #793582
I see on a second site that layer slider message. It appears really low on the update page after I’ve made an update.
I can’t deactivate or delete layerslider. It came with Enfold, yes? It doesn’t appear in my plugins list.
May 15, 2017 at 10:50 pm in reply to: Why does Enfold think I have a plugin that needs to be updated? #793581Thank you! That is good to know.
This now appears to be resolved. The files that were creating errors for each other were left from a previous theme and not needed so have been deleted and everything is fine.
I did not check that area. I did not know about it. Thank you – that’s just what I needed!
I do not have it solved yet. I have found the init.php file and I am going to try commenting out parts of it – hopefully all of it – to help assess if it can be removed. I will report here what I learn.
That got rid of the rollover effect, thank you! But can we also make it so there is no yellow line at al. Right now it sits under the nav item for the active page.
It turns out, my client does not like the yellow underline that shows as one rolls over the different options in the navigation bar. How do I turn that off?
Yes, that worked. Thank you
April 21, 2017 at 8:34 pm in reply to: How can I hide post meta data on archive or category pages #781387Yes, that did the trick. Thanks!
PS: This seems to only be happening on the homepage with just one of the widgets.
Hello,
Sorry to have had to step away from this for so long. The holidays came and this project went on hold for a while. To answer the most recent question – I have no idea what the init.php file is for. I think the developer I was working with created it and I cannot reach him anymore.
OMG. I swear that’s what I did, more than once, with no change! I have set it to grid view now. I’m not sure if I want grid or large banner, but this is okay for now. Thanks!
Here you go.
Hi,
I would like my page to look like http://kriesi.at/themes/enfold/blog/blog-single-author-big/
and later, when we have more posts, I may change to: http://kriesi.at/themes/enfold/blog/blog-grid/
I have tried to chose these, both at the Enfold settings level and at the page level using Advanced Editor, but without effect.
Currently my site is displaying “single author small” (http://kriesi.at/themes/enfold/blog/blog-single-small/) and I would like that if only it didn’t force the thumbnail images to be square because they crop my pictures too much. Is there a way to have this layout but specify a change to the image size? Or aspect ratio?
