I want to be able to build a 1/3 – 2/3 element that has no margins that is not full width, but the width of the main container. The grid row takes the full width and has no margins. The columns allow me to control the top and bottom margins, so I can set that to 0. it doesn’t allow me to control the left margin, which has a default of 6%, causing the space between the 2 columns next to each other.
I simply need some guidance on how to set things using the columns, but removing the left margin on the second column, so I can get the content right next to each other without the spacer of the margin. Please look at the screen shots I included to see exactly what I mean.
thanks!
That could work, but how do I do a grid row with only 1 column? If I could remove the margin-left for the specific grid elements, that would get me what I need. Is there a way to put in some custom css and then reference that?
The difference between the grid row, the width is the total width of the browser, and there is no margins. Here is the example:
layout exampleThe column elements only go the width of the max width in the general layout piece in the theme settings. You can reduce the top and bottom margins for the column elements to 0, but there is always a left margin. I was able to use the Chrome Developer tools to get the layout how I want it by tweaking the margin-left from 6% to 0, and then I change the width from 64% to 70%.

code exampleIs there a way to put in some custom css and then have the grid layout elements reference those elements to get the page and the spacing the way I want?

I would, but this is a corporate intranet site, so it is behind a firewall. I can set up a time to do a quick meeting and we can do a screen share or something.
Please advise.
thanks,
LarryYes that was tried, but the site was displaying strange characters on the forwarded sites. That caused us to move the wordpress install over to the new hosting, but for some reason, the sites are not recognizing the mobile version. When viewed on a smart phone, the responsive nature of the site doesn’t work.
Any ideas?
Andy,
I realize this isn’t a WordPress site, as I have looked at the code in detail. I was just looking for some guidance is all. I’ll work with my developers and we will come up with a solution to replicate this in Enfold.
thanks
I got it working. There was a missing div tag somewhere with all the elements. I had to just delete most of the elements and rebuild the page. Thanks for the support along the way!
Ok I just did a fresh install of the theme, and the issue still persists. Now also the 2 sections I had issues with before not wrapping are back (the Free Review section and the contact section). I need to get this fixed, as the client is expecting the site to launch in the next couple of days. Please help otherwise I’m going to have to start from scratch with another theme, and I LOVE this theme as it is the one I have been using for over a year now.
thanks!
I have provided this before, please look at the post above in the private section or in this post in the private section.
My client is using iPhone 5s. I have a Samsung s4 and they don’t work. Also to see what I am seeing, look at it here and test it.
The contact link from the menu puts me at the ‘How We Are Different’ section. I used the one page restaurant theme and modified it. The only thing I can think of is that it’s still pulling the link or something from the original content. I’m at a loss I have tried to change the link and other things and can’t get it working correctly.
Please advise.
I tried to deactive all the plugins and the issue still is there. see private message for site info.
Sorry, take a look at this design:
hotel designRikard,
As I explained, I tried everything I could think of using the special headings. I put it back on the page so you can see it. There are now 2 heading areas for Contact Us. One is with the special headings element. I set the color to custom and made it white (#ffffff). The other I did manually with a text area and did the inline coding to make the text white, and have a font size and line height of 60px.
Please let me know why the special heading element isn’t working correctly.
thanks,
LarryI used some inline css for the font color, size and line height. I thought it would have been easy to use the special heading, like I did for all the other sections. For some reason the last 2 sections didn’t work in the special heading admin section. I don’t know if this is a bug or not, but I shouldn’t have had to do this manually.
That fixed the wrapping issues. What is the solution as to why the Free Review and Contact Us text is black when I have changed the default color in the Colors tab for the Special Heading admin?
I use the same exact setup on other links on the page that work fine, but for some reason, those 2 links don’t recognize the custom color.
Please advise.
thanks!
Please have a look at the home page here:
http://mfiglobal.net.s185917.gridserver.com/I don’t see the 1px boarder on the bottom. Did I do something wrong?
Thanks for the help. One more question. In the restaurant demo, the header has a 1px boarder on the transparency and the solid white (after scrolling). Is there a setting some place to add that 1 pixel boarder on the bottom of the menu?
