I’ve determined that the issue is with how I’m using Translatepress and not with Enfold. You may close this thread.
Thank you for your attention.
I’m using Translatepress. It is starting to look like the plugin is having a problem with HTML formatting for bold or italics. When selecting a paragraph that has bolded words amongst regular text, it copies the tags to the English content box, but manually adding those tags to the French translation appears to cause a problem.
Thank you for your quick response. Will this deal with the logo image change from a transparent header (with all-white logo) to an opaque header (two-tone logo)?
[UPDATE] Situation resolved. The solution works if you actually upload the edited functions.php file back to the server! LOL

coredesignsupport. Reason: Resolved my own stupid mistake. LOL
Everything is working now. This support thread can be closed.
I’ve decided to uninstall Jetpack and the site is now fully restored. Thank you for your support. :)
I haven’t touched the child theme functions.php file since I set up this site a number of years ago. The site is currently presenting a Maintenance screen, so please go ahead and investigate as you see fit to resolve the issue. :)
I tried to paste your suggested replacement code into the child theme functions.php file and received this error message:
Your PHP code changes were not applied due to an error on line 385 of file wp-includes/html-api/class-wp-html-decoder.php. Please fix and try saving again.

The functions.php file in the Enfold child theme has no content. Also, the replacement code you described is identical to the invalid code you identified?
Thank you for the quick response.
May 29, 2024 at 5:28 pm in reply to: [UPDATE] ACF Date Picker formatting not working in Enfold Custom Widget Area #1446965I’ve just discovered that the “Get Custom Field” widget element is provided by another plugin, so this actually might NOT be an Enfold issue. I’ve contacted the developer of this other plugin to investigate further.
May 27, 2024 at 10:38 pm in reply to: [UPDATE] ACF Date Picker formatting not working in Enfold Custom Widget Area #1446765ACF tells me that their plugin does not provide a “Get Custom Field” element for use in widgets. Is this widget element an Enfold item?
