February 20, 2017 at 10:30 pm in reply to: As soon as I install the Enfold theme I get a blank screen #749633Hiya,
I have uploaded the enfold.zip file using FileManager on the Plesk server. You can now see Enfold in the Themes.
You can also see a note saying something to do with __MacOS as having a missing file. I don’t know what this is about??

Don’t worry. In the end I used FTP to delete the old version of the Enfold theme, then just uploaded the latest version which cured it.
Sorry to bother you!As an update to my previous post, previously the loading graphic would keep loading, but with the newer versions of Enfold when going back the loading icon now stops moving and the page stops doing anything, like this:
I wonder if the problem might be something to do with the pre-loader graphic? I have another site using the same theme but not using the pre-loader and this site DOES go back perfectly well:
http://www.abbeyroadframing.co.uk
I am tempted to ditch the pre-loader perhaps?
April 26, 2016 at 8:08 am in reply to: Easy Slider displays LANDSCAPE images the same width as portrait, so too small #621970I have tried 1130px and 100% and neither one seems to have made any difference. I have left it set at 100%.
Making the slider full width does this:
http://peteranderson.net/landscape-copy/
At least all of the images fill the height or the width, but don’t now line up – which I guess can be fixed with the CSS.

April 24, 2016 at 9:45 am in reply to: Easy Slider displays LANDSCAPE images the same width as portrait, so too small #620756Yes! I love using Enfold, it’s a terrific theme to use as a starting point for my projects.
Is it possible to stop this happening?
constrained inside the main container
I want the landscape images to be enlarged in pro to fill the width and portrait images to be enlarged to fill the height. See diagram in this link:
http://peteranderson.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/How-it-should-look.jpgThis is what used to happen, see how it used to look in this link:

April 21, 2016 at 12:25 pm in reply to: Easy Slider displays LANDSCAPE images the same width as portrait, so too small #619104I have been doing more research and I think at least I have figured out what the problem is…
The (updated?) EasySlider, must look for the narrowest photo and make this the width of ALL photos in the slideshow. Hopefully there is a function somewhere that I can stop this happening.
Here is another example: http://peteranderson.net/interiors-copy/
Watch the WIDTH of the first photo of the chair on a red background, the next photo is landscape so should fill the entire space (it did before the upgrade). Instead it displays at the same with as the first photo. The third photo again should be bigger, but presumably is also restricted by the width of the narrowest photo. Each of the slideshows is set to NO SCALING (original width x original height) so you would imagine this would be ideal, I have tried others but as expected they crop the images.
Thank you. Actually I AM having more problems with the same website:
Hopefully you can work a miracle on this?
Thanks
I have now updated the theme to the latest version and thank goodness the problem is fixed. Phew!
I will leave the user live in case you need to look at the back of the site, but otherwise it is now fixed THANK YOU.
Ok have deleted the whole lot and just put the code from the forum, I now get this error:
function modify_jquery() { if (!is_admin()) { wp_deregister_script(‘jquery’); wp_register_script(‘jquery’, ‘https://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.11.3.min.js’); wp_enqueue_script(‘jquery’); } } add_action(‘init’, ‘modify_jquery’);
Warning: session_start(): Cannot send session cache limiter – headers already sent (output started at /data06/anderson/public_html/wp-content/themes/enfold-child/functions.php:9) in /data06/anderson/public_html/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/masonry_entries.php on line 32I am now getting loads of errors in the admin too, so have put back my original functions.php file and marked the other as faulty.
PS – Rikard, I have now taken this function off otherwise my client’s website won’t display at all !
HI Rikard,
Thank you for the reply. When I add this function using Dreamweaver the script hinting says there is an error where the two closing curly brackets are (line 27 in my document).
Uploading the document then says this:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '}' in /data06/anderson/public_html/wp-content/themes/enfold-child/functions.php on line 27
Should the two curly brackets be the other way round? I have tried different variations but haven’t managed to fix the problem as I don’t know enough about the correct syntax.
Can you check and possibly see where the mistake might be?
I have had the same problem since the very first time I used Enfold as a theme. For mine I get the loading logo but nothing ever gets loaded. The only way to do it is to reload the page as well.
I assumed it was something I was doing wrong, but now I know it’s not just me I would like to have it fixed too please!
Regards
PS a friend using Windows also has this problem with the theme. I have tried with Chrome which works perfectly.

November 18, 2015 at 11:58 am in reply to: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '{', expecting T_STRING or T_VARIABLE or ' #537990Oh I see. So basically now the duff one is off the server any other themes I update with the version 3.4,3 will be without the rogue file?
November 18, 2015 at 11:45 am in reply to: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '{', expecting T_STRING or T_VARIABLE or ' #537983Ok done and transients cleared.
Evoke still says “No Updates available. You are running the latest version! (3.4.3)”
It probably doesn’t matter, but as I have up update other websites using Evoke, I want to make sure I don’t bring them down with the same problem. I was hoping it would say 3.4.4 and then I was reassured all was ok. Perhaps I just need to let it go?

November 18, 2015 at 11:34 am in reply to: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '{', expecting T_STRING or T_VARIABLE or ' #537970Hi Yigit,
Thanks for the speedy reply. Upgrading to 3.4.4 via FTP has fixed the problem as you suggested.
One oddity is on the Theme Update page it still says this:
Theme Updates
No Updates available. You are running the latest version! (3.4.3)Shouldn’t this have said 3.4.4 now?
Regards x

June 25, 2015 at 10:01 am in reply to: Menu page not showing "portfolio" items in the page listing #464495Oh WOW that’s amazing!
What a shame they don’t make it more obvious. I bet 90% of users are unaware of this!
Thanks again.
June 10, 2015 at 1:36 pm in reply to: How do I override functions-enfold.php in a child theme folder? #457187Ok thanks will have a go at that.
I have checked the file with one on another website that works and there appears to be no difference at all. IDENTICAL.
I have also checked the permissions and they are identical too.
Could the problem be something that the /wp-includes/js/tinymce/wp-tinymce.php file RELATES TO ?
Surely you clever guys there can fix this problem? : )
C
In that case could this file only be altered and re uploaded?
C
Ok thanks. What I don’t understand is that I have other Enfold themes running in exactly the same VPS with no problems??
What a pain!
Sadly that hasn’t worked. When trying to log into the admin I get this message:
Internal Server Error

Hiya,
How would I know if I have Apache mod-security on?
I am here: Plesk > Server > Apache Web Server Settings

This reply has been marked as private.UPDATE !!!
For some reason (was it you?) one of the two site afflicted with the non-loading Advanced Layout Editor has suddenly come back to life;
aj.waltoncreative.com/wp-admin now works!
BUT the other site that had exactly the same problem still doesn’t work I’m afraid:
sgs.waltoncreative.com/wp-admin still refuses to load the ALE.
Would you like the login details again for sgs.waltoncreative.com/wp-admin ?
Colin
Well I have just spent the last hour chucking everything out (keeping wp_config.php and my uploads folder).
Then re-installing everything, new wordpress downloaded, new enfold downloaded.
The admin and website both appear, but as before the Advanced Layout Editor button does nothing on pages that don’t already have any advanced content. And on pages that already have advanced content all I get is the animated wheel going round and nothing else.
I have even tried different templates. Where Adding Media does not work. I get as far as clicking Add Media and being able to choose my image to display, clicking on “Insert Into Page” and then nothing happens. Same page or post with no picture.
The only things I have NOT dumped and started again are the wp_config.php file, my uploads folder and the database itself. Could the error be coming from the DB perhaps?
Thanks for your help – what a bore!
