February 5, 2015 at 2:30 am in reply to: Enfold photography demo – Instructions on using the Masonry Gallery? #391041Ok, let me ask you this then, If you were a photographer and you knew how to optimize and specify the image dimensions in photoshop…What size and resolution would you put them at and still be under 4 seconds load time before I upload to the site? I really appreciate you helping me on this but a photographer’s best selling point online will be his pictures and I want them to be smoking Hot and yet not hinder the speed of the site. If the largest pic is 705×705, would you just set all pic at 705px wide and let the height be what it is? I want to know how to make Your theme look the best in can but not get a Google slap for being too slow. I have other photographers interested in this theme and I want to know it inside and out…Help!
DanFebruary 3, 2015 at 6:46 pm in reply to: Enfold photography demo – Instructions on using the Masonry Gallery? #390292I figured that part out but I’m still clueless as to what is the optimum size of the pictures when uploading? I’m all about speed of my websites and I need to know if this theme is specifying the dimensions via CSS ( it doesn’t look like it)… Specified dimensions that match those of the images themselves! I’d hate to take the site I’m working on live, only to have to go back and re-size and specify the height and width dimensions of each picture. Most people don’t pay attention to this and should, speed has a lot to do with ranking nowadays…. When a person comes to your site for the first time, they have an empty cache, I don’t want them spending 15 seconds for the pictures to load, they say, after 4 seconds and 90% of your possible clients are gone and it doesn’t matter how pretty your website is. In this case, for a photographer using the enfold photography demo theme, this would be so important because, their pictures speak for themselves!
Can you read this from GTmetrix and please advise:

January 23, 2015 at 4:41 pm in reply to: Slider Picture Size for Enfold Photography Portfolio? #384412Ok Great we’re getting somewhere but, I’m still not getting my question answered… if I use 1400X1000 or 1500×1500 are the image dimensions being specified via the image attributes via CSS? For good SEO and page speed I need to know if this theme is doing this automatically or do I need to re-size my images to (1400×1000 or 1500×1500) and specify the image attributes myself in the HTML via photoshop before I upload them to my site?? Please read about GTMetrix page speed below:
GTMetrix:
Page Speed currently only detects image dimensions that are specified via the image attributes. If you are specifying the dimensions via CSS, then you can safely ignore this recommendation.Details from Google
When the browser lays out the page, it needs to be able to flow around replaceable elements such as images. It can begin to render a page even before images are downloaded, provided that it knows the dimensions to wrap non-replaceable elements around. If no dimensions are specified in the containing document, or if the dimensions specified don’t match those of the actual images, the browser will require a reflow and repaint once the images are downloaded. To prevent reflows, specify the width and height of all images, either in the HTML tag, or in CSS.
