Hi,
I think so. I wasn’t sure which to try so I’ll go with your suggestion and see…Thanks again,
Steve
Thanks Mike,
Here’s the summary:
1) I reactivated Fastvelocity Minify but with Disable minification on JS files selected. This option changes the behaviour so that JS files will be merged but not minified. The burger menu still worked.2) I then reactivated EWWW Image Optimizer without any CDN ilnks. Again, the burger menu continued working.
3) Final step was to enable the MaxCDN service through the WP Super Cache plugin. This stopped the burger menu working and created a series of errors in the console. To reinstate the burger menu I had to deactivate the plugins again.
Hi,
Thanks for your detailed and helpful reply. Also for spotting the 404 error in the footer. I’ll work through it systematically to find out what works. If anything breaks the burger menu I will either do without the functionality or find an alternative way to do it.
I’m happy to let you know the outcome but you’ve solved the problem and given me an approach to checking for conflicts so I would be happy if you want to close this thread also.I really appreciate your execellent support – thanks again
Best regards,
Steve
Hi,
That’s great thanks. OK, I have ‘switched off’ MaxCDN in the WP Super Cache plugin, disabled these other plugins that also seem to be linked:
EWWW Image Optimizer
Fast Velocity MinifyI then flushed the cache.
The site took a long time to load for the first time after making the changes, but the burger menu is working and subsequent page refreshes are not slow.
HI Mike
Thanks for your fast response (and I apologise for my slow replies!!)
I’m not sure I know how to do what you suggest but I will give it a go and let you know if it fixes things…Many thanks
Steve
Hi Mike,

Let me know if you need any more information
ThanksSteve
August 1, 2017 at 7:31 pm in reply to: Extra Main Menu on Desktop, Hamburger Menu Not Working on Mobile #833041Hi,
I think this thread refers to the problem I am having.
These comments relate to the desktop version only. I haven’t got round to testing the mobile versions yet. The latest update has broken the site. Is it easy to revert to the previous version of the theme?
Since the latest update, I have a large black block with a text menu above most pages (the blog page is OK though). It occupies the top half of the screen and looks horrible. I tried changing to the new burger menu, which removes the text menu and replaces it with a burger menu, but the text menu in the header is also replaced with a second burger menu. Neither of these burger menus work. When you click them they produce a semi-transparent layer with no content.
I added the custom CSS referred to above, but that doesn’t appear to solve the problem. So, I don’t know what to try next. Any help would be appreciated -
