I went through again to make sure and that was indeed the issue. Thank you so much for your help. And just for anyone else’s benefit, the way I found the mismatched html tag was viewing the source code in Firefox (FF shows incorrect html tags in red). That’s where I saw the extra </p>. And it was there because I had done a soft line break in code view without a <br> tag. Enfold added the </p> on its own. Once I put a <br> at that line break, Enfold behaved.
Thank you for getting me to take a closer look at the code! Yes you can close this.
CathyOkay you are right. I did check all MY code, but there was a place where I hit enter to break to a new line in a text box in code view. I didn’t add any tags for that, but Enfold put a </p> tag at the end of that second line. But there was no <p> to match with it. However, when I added a <br> where I made that break, Enfold handled it better with no extra tags.
Thank you so much!!
Hi Jordan,
I wanted to be sure to get back to you and for others to know the end result.
YouTube and Vimeo do not look good in the layerslider as a background video.
Self-hosting videos are sluggish and large.
But I was able to super compress the video – lost a little quality, but it’s a much better size for self-hosting. So that’s what I used in the layerslider background.
Also, made sure to have three versions of the video because not all players play mp4. So I added .webm and .ogg (ogv).
It’s all working decently now. Still has a small hiccup in the beginning on my Chrome (PC) but everyone else seems happy with it so there ya go.
Thanks for your help Jordan!
CathyHi Jordan,
Thank you for your help. You are right in your instructions, but it’s still missing the mark for me. I posted the link in private section. The top of the page is how I want it to be, minus the stuttering or not playing. And if you scroll all the way down the page you’ll see what I got with embedding the YouTube video in a “color” section. It’s about 24 sec long.
CathyHi Jordan,
Yes I added it via the media library. It’s 30MB, about 24 seconds. When I use the self-hosted version, it stutters for me, especially in Chrome, but eventually plays. But for others, esp. on Macs it won’t play at all. People thought it was just a photo. So is self-hosted the only way a video will work in the layerslider? If so, I’m gonna have to do a lot of workaround stuff.
CathyHi Rikard,
I think it was hard core stuck in cache, even though I had emptied it. But I just did a complete flush and now everything looks great. I’m sorry for the rabbit hole there. Thank you for checking! And thank you Yigit!Hi Yigit!
Thank you for the speedy response!!Your suggestions for the slideshow worked perfectly – no more extra space below the images (I mean there’s a tad bit, but that’s my images I think).
However, I did what you said by removing that ‘.entry-content-wrapper a: hover’ code, flushed the cache and still having the same issues with the button and blog feed images.
Other ideas??
Cathy
