Hey Yigit,
You hit the bullseye with that! Clearing the cache solved the problem. I’m using Firefox (iceweasel) under Debian Linux.Using another browser (midori) also works fine. I never would have guessed about the browser cache.
Thanks for taking the time to walk me through this! I’ll recommend your themes, not only for their functions, but also for the support you provide. You may close the ticket :)
Regards,
Joel
P.S. If you have a troubleshooting guide, clearing the browser cache probably is worth mentioning.

Hi,
I posted a WordPress admin login with the initial report above.

Hi again,
I deactivated two plugins, but still edit page shows no content. The plugins page shows all plugins not activated, but the admin menu plugins indicator still shows (1) in a red circle.
Also, if I click the Default Editor button no content shows. If I now click the Advanced Layout Editor button, there is no response on the page at all.

Hi Yigit,
I updated to 2.8.1. My wordpress installation is also up-to-date. However, the problem still remains.

–>It looks to me like the current jQuery version, 1.10.2, is already ahead of the minimum required version 1.7.0, but is being seen as a lower version, probably due to a bug in the (WordPress? Layerslider?) code that checks versions. I have the latest version of the jquery-updater plugin. I suppose it can’t help, because jQuery is already the newest in the 1.x series.
Thanks for the quick answer.
Greetings,
Joel
