    Hi:

I thought I had sent you a link, but don’t see it here.

    http://ilovetylermadison.biz/shop/

I haven’t tried the Woo config file modifications yet.

    Hi:

Yes, it looks OK now. I had changed the encoding for the TM and there may have been some latency on the server. It looks like it is showing alright now, so thanks for your response.

In CSS, selectors are patterns used to select the element(s) you want to style.

    http://www.w3schools.com/cssref/css_selectors.asp

For theme developers this is their support policy: “You need to handle the support requests after the included Items.” They do n to support Layer Slider if it is part of a theme, that is for the theme developer. http://support.kreaturamedia.com/faq/4/layerslider-for-wordpress/#group-3&entry-18

    Thanks for your response.

Yes, I agree. We are going to go live with our site within the month and still have image headlines in the layer-slider. It looks “OK” for the most part, but not proportionally as good when it gets to mobile size. I could never find a selector that worked with text headlines within the sliders, and tried many to no effect. It has a section to add CSS, but doesn’t seem to work for this issue—and adding CSS to the Enfold theme without the right selector didn’t work.

It seems to be a Layer Slider issue operating on it’s own CSS rules.

in reply to: Store items suddenly all showing up as not available #487468

This issue has been fixed with the latest version of Magic Zoom Plus plugin v5.12.34. All current versions working now.

in reply to: Store items suddenly all showing up as not available #486812

I have done extensive testing and have narrowed down the issue to a plugin. Magic Zoom Plus, which interferes somehow with the variable product on the single product page—consequently WooCommerce marks it as unavailable and displays the error message. The product variations can be navigated and the selected image for each color comes up properly within a “Quick View,” plus can be ordered and added to the cart in this way. So, the basic functions of WooCommerce seem to be working and the Magic Zoom Plus version 4.5.41, (the current version,) plugin is incompatible with WooCommerce version 2.4.3.

I have the issue into the plugin author to see if he will provide an update to handle the incompatibility, if not I will go to another solution and test it again.

I wanted to give you the data for resolution—Enfold and other themes I have tried are all compatible and all react in the same way to this plugin.

I did not find this file in the Enfold root, but it may be an issue if Enfold includes this:

WooCommerce has a template file called:

    templates/single-product/add-to-cart/variable.php
Some themes are bundling an older version of this file and will need updating. In the meantime, look for:

    yourtheme/woocommerce/single-product/add-to-cart/variable.php
And rename or delete the file. This will cause the core WC version to be used in place until the theme is made compatible.”

    Thank you.

Here is a link to see if this is an Enfold issue as well:

    Also:

There are several other reports of this issue on the Enfold forum.
It is likely that Enfold is bundling an outdated add-to-cart template for variable products. Switching themes can confirm this..

in reply to: Store items suddenly all showing up as not available #486199

Upgraded to WooCommerce Version 2.4.2. This did not fix the issue, it did nothing. All products still shown as unavailable.

This software no longer works for us for ecommerce. There are many others with this same issue. This update did not address the issue at all for us and the store is still broken.

in reply to: Store items suddenly all showing up as not available #486133

I have opened the issue on GitHub and have started getting some comments. You might want to follow it to see if there is anything of value that comes up.

in reply to: Store items suddenly all showing up as not available #486125

That’s exactly what I did late last night. I have now set up a mirror ecommerce site migrating from backup files in a new subdirectory. It is running WooCommerce Version 2.3.13 and again works perfectly. It will remain Version 2.3.13 as that is the last version of WooCommerce that works for us so far.

The only other data I have found is on GitHub. An earlier release had similar problems: https://github.com/woothemes/woocommerce/issues/4373

Also more data on https://github.com/woothemes/woocommerce and https://woocommerce.wordpress.com.

In the future I will always run duplicate sites in separate subdomains so that I can test out all updates without affecting ecommerce and losing money and time. This was a major setback and I hope WooCommerce will correct their bad code.

    Thanks for your response.

in reply to: Main shop page banner control #482355

Thank you very much! Worked flawlessly.

I have figured out how to style the banner “shop description,” so I’m good now.

    Appreciate your support!

in reply to: Main shop page banner control #480945

    Hi:

    Thanks for the response.

This helps with the “Shop Banner Image Color Overlay” and can control it’s height within the container. The container however reduces about 1/8″, but no more—no matter what I try. The color overlay can get very narrow, but it floats within the container.

I am using the Woocommerce default shop page, so it must have something to do with the page Woocommerce uses in its code. You cannot modify the menu setting on the page, i.e. “transparency” etc., in the Woocommerce default shop page either.

If you have another idea to control the container let’s try, otherwise it’s probably not worth the time to figure it out since it is cosmetic only.

Other points on the banner settings that would be good future capabilities:

    1. The ability to style the “Shop Description” easily as it is centered body text by default. Need to be able to style headlines and position it responsively.
    2. Ability to control the height of the shop banner container to take full advantage of the parallax feature for the banner image. Right now it is so narrow the parallax doesn’t do a lot.
    3. The ability to turn off the parallax feature in the banner image so the image does not change in the viewport on different device screens. It is hard to make it work from a 27″ Retina to a 5″ smart phone.

    Thank you.

Here you go. It’s very simple really, I just can’t get it. I want to have control over the banner height to make it larger or smaller and insert different height images inside. I am using the Woocommerce default store to keep the functions as basic and bulletproof as I can, plus building a storefront interferes wight the “quick look” plugin function—otherwise I’d make a banner in the advanced editor.

    Thanks.

    Hi:

Of course—see in private content. The site is in development and password protected right now. I will activate the banner for you so you can see.

in reply to: Make text responsive in LayerSlider #469189

    Hi:

    Thank you for the response.

The slider operates exactly as it did before. I already had raster, (that is image headlines,) inserted into the slider as a workaround for the type, (that is vector fonts,) not being responsive within LayerSlider, as it simply does not respond to the same CSS Enfold does.

Did you test it out on the 4r slider with the vector font text? It doesn’t work for me.

I added the class to the slider text layers in the “attributes” section, and tried many variations of controlling that class with CSS that you added to the Quick CSS and CSS I wrote for the “styles” custom CSS section within the slider, and again custom code separately within the Enfold Quick CSS section. Nothing worked. The slider operates exactly as it did before.

So, I don’t get it. Theoretically it should, but there must be some CSS overwriting the attempts at controlling the type and I don’t know where that is—a hierarchy issue within the LayerSlider’s CSS cascade. Images were always responsive within LayerSlider, just not text. That’s the problem.

I think I have concluded that it is not possible to make the LayerSlider text responsive—or to control it with CSS. I will look inside the Enfold theme CSS files to see if I can spot the issue, but I do not change those. There must be a CSS file for the LayerSlider somewhere, but for now I don’t think it’s possible to control text with CSS within the slider.

    Thank you for your efforts.

in reply to: Make text responsive in LayerSlider #467667

Hi: Thanks for your response. This has dragged on so you’ll need to read through the posts to get the situation.

I do not use image files for headlines, however I had to make the site live using a workaround of image, (rasterized,) headlines in the layer slider so they would be responsive on mobile, which headline text was not within LayerSlider. That is the problem.

Please see this page at http://swingcontrol.com/home2/ to understand the issue—view it at mobile size.

The headlines within LayerSlider need to be mobile responsive. They are getting lost, i.e. too big, on mobile. LayerSlider doesn’t use the same CSS as the Enfold overall theme, so Quick CSS doesn’t seem to affect it. All code placed within LayerSlider does not affect the responsiveness—I have tried all I could think of—and it doesn’t accept media queries.

This is the code I use in “Quick CSS” within Enfold Child which works fine on all Enfold controlled text to size the headlines:

    @media only screen and (max-width: 640px) {
    h3 {
    font-size: 30px !important;
    }
    }

I would like to do the same thing within the individual slider layers, but nothing I try works. I have tried giving the layer an ID, #home3, but can’t seem to affect it. I have also scoured the forum and tried all solutions, but they do not work.

I have provided the temp admin login, and the password for the test page. I am turning this site, an interim one, into a large ecommerce site and will need to resolve this issue on both the interim site and the final site.

If you guys can help me resolve this I would be grateful.

    Thanks.

    Hi:
I still need to make the headlines mobile responsive within LayerSlider. I had to make the site live using a workaround of raster headlines in the layerslider. However, I have a working page at http://swingcontrol.com/home2/ to test on.

Please work on that page for testing, and make duplicates of the layerslider for tests to avoid damage to online work.

The problem is how to make text layers in Layerslider responsive using media queries.

in reply to: Menu link suddenly not working #466163

OK. I just fixed the anchor linking issue. My bad markup.

    Thanks.

in reply to: Make text responsive in LayerSlider #466162

OK. I just fixed the anchor linking issue. My bad markup. So it’s OK now.

If you can find a fix for the responsive type in LayerSlider, that would be really helpful.

    Thanks.

in reply to: Make text responsive in LayerSlider #466155

I had to make the site live using a workaround of raster headlines in the layerslider. However, I have replaced the page at http://swingcontrol.com/home2/

Please work on that page for testing, and make duplicates of the layerslider for tests to avoid damage to online work.

My most pressing issue right now is covered in another support topic. Please see https://kriesi.at/support/topic/menu-link-suddenly-not-working/

That has made the main page of the site unworkable just as it went live and I MUST fix it fast.

    Thanks.

in reply to: Make text responsive in LayerSlider #465367

Here is a temporary login. I am also working on the site, so make a clone of a page of a copy of a layer if you want to test something.

in reply to: Make text responsive in LayerSlider #464674

Thanks for the feedback. I tried it exactly as suggested—and in as many other ways as I could think of including adding the media query to the Enfold custom css and the enfold child custom css seperately, nothing worked.

Is there any way I can customize the LayerSlider’s “H1” css to style the type and add the media query within it’s specifications? (Using the Enfold child custom css or the Quick css) That would take the custom styling out of the text of the layer and I could just specify “H1” for the headline.

Otherwise, I’ll just use raster headlines and know not to design it that way in the future.

    Thank you.

in reply to: Make text responsive in LayerSlider #464320

I am building a large ecommerce site for this client, and this is the interim site for the next 3-months. It will go live this coming week—both sites will have the same issue with the headlines within the layer slider that should match the headlines done in Enfold. I can make the headlines in the layer slider raster images, but it’s not very good, won’t match and will get very small on mobile. Plus the ecommerce site will be completely Retina ready so the raster headlines will pose a problem.

There must be some way to set media queries and CSS for the vector headlines within layer slider.

    Thanks for your response..

    I’ll try a plugin.

    – Michael

    Thanks for checking it out.

I see, and was able to modify it. Looks like the LayerSlider engine is OK. I will purchase a license from the LayerSlider people and see if they’ll provide support. It looks like I can also duplicate the sliders in use from scratch since I have all the calculations in place–if it comes to that.

in reply to: Accordion slider images not visible after updates. #409657

    Hi:

I finally got time to try to create some accordion sliders from scratch. Nothing worked to get the slider to display images—I tried many different images in both jpg and png formats. Verified and resaved images in Photoshop and reimported them, etc.

Then I looked at the code in the “web inspector” and it was being written very differently after the Sept. 2014 updates. The image linking was missing for each of 4 images, so obviously the images would not show up. The links were also missing. So, for some reason the Avia Layout Builder was writing the code wrong.

I finally found the bug. In each of the image captions in the accordion slider I had a right angle bracket “>” as a copy element. What must have happened is that after the update the HTML parsing mechanism got more exact and was reading that single bracket as a mistake in the HTML code…so it caused all that followed to be corrupt and not write correctly.

Stupidly simple, but very obscure. It now works fine.

    Thank you.

Thank you very much for your reply.

It didn’t work at first and I tried all variations. Then, I made a new page and after getting WP to recognize it as the front page, it all works perfectly. Hopefully, this is a permanent fix.

    I guess you’re a genius!

    Thanks.
