    I temporarily tried setting the layout option to both of the Responsive layouts, that did not change anything.

    So the layout is still not working, we can’t update the page, please ask the developer to work on this ASAP!!

    PS we only have two plug-ins installed, JetPack and Duplicator

    I just figured out that there needs to be a layout piece inside the color section, before adding an image.

    This wasn’t obvious. I’ve found that your documentation is very minimal, there could be some more how-to instructions on how to use your theme that would cover the basics.
