That worked beautifully,
Thank you Victoria!
February 4, 2020 at 7:21 am in reply to: How to change default WooCommerce shop page to my custom layout? #1181178Ok, yes I did that but the one problem is that if I place an item in the cart, then view the cart and delete the item from the cart, a button shows up that says “Return To Shop” and if I click that, it takes us to the default shop, not my custom page.
Otherwise I have set it up as you have said and that much works well, thank you:

Thanks,

January 27, 2020 at 6:30 pm in reply to: Add code via Enfold/General Styling/ Quick CSS or use Code Snippets free plugin? #1178753Hi Rikard,
Does that mean I am using the child theme ? Because I add the CSS code to my theme by going to WordPress / Enfold / General Styling / Quick CSS and every time there is an update, I download the theme file to my desktop and upload it and replace the older Enfold folder using Transmit and any code I had pasted into the Quick CSS prior is still there.
So I am confused as to what component or where the child theme is separate from the Enfold theme I update?
Is there a video tutorial to understand this better?
Am I using the child theme already?
Sorry for my confusion on this.

January 25, 2020 at 6:15 pm in reply to: Add code via Enfold/General Styling/ Quick CSS or use Code Snippets free plugin? #1178387Thanks guys and could you explain the child theme aspect of this.
I have been using Enfold for a long while now but never understood what the child theme is and how or why to modify that instead?
Thanks,
GB

I have never quite understood using a child theme approach. I just download the theme update and upload it using Transmit and add CSS code using the theme options / Quick CSS field.
I understand that the plugin thus does not seem nesseary but is there a tutorial or something you could point me towards that might help me better understand what the child theme approach is compared to how I have been doing it?
THANKS!

January 19, 2020 at 6:16 pm in reply to: Can I remove a Category from default WooCommerce shop page? #1176033Hi Rikard,
Thanks, that worked for the “Featured Prints” Also added the following code to remove the “georgie leahy prints”:
.html_entry_id_3483 li.product_cat-georgie-leahy-prints {
display: none;
}It worked to remove those prints as well from that page but the layout is just showing 2 columns now instead of 3 which it is set to.
I added the featured print back and it returned the layout to 3 column.
However what code would I use to just show “Featured Print” in the shop Nav bar? (the code you provided removes all the prints from sidebar)
OK, I figured it out. I created a new “Featured Print” Parent Category and then re applied your code which removed the other print categories.
So its all figured out!!
Thanks again!

January 18, 2020 at 6:00 pm in reply to: My sidebar fonts are smaller than the default shop example. #1175880Yes, I checked on an other persons computer with Safari and it did work, so I realize I might need to give my cache clearing a while and use work arounds.
Thanks!

January 18, 2020 at 5:57 pm in reply to: Can I remove a Category from default WooCommerce shop page? #1175877Hey Rikard,
I posted the code, cleared the cache and checked with 4 browsers, and with Opera the “prints” categories are removed However the print products themselves are still visible in the store.
I am wondering if the other approach would be to build a custom shop page and have the added benefit of the Layout builder? But I heard this was more complicated and has its own issues?
Thanks for all the support!

Thanks so much, you can close it!
January 17, 2020 at 10:06 pm in reply to: Problem removing tabs on WooCommerce Product page. #1175692Thanks, that worked!
I realize that my clearing cache is not fully working at times as I could still see the Info tab after numerous cache clearings. However if I open the page in Firefox, the Info tab is gone.
So now I know that I will need to cross check changes I make with cache clearing, then other browsers after Safari such as Firefox and Chrome.
Thanks Again
January 17, 2020 at 9:57 pm in reply to: My sidebar fonts are smaller than the default shop example. #1175688Hi,
I do clear my cache religiously after making such adjustments, it’s the first step when I don’t see a change.
I looked at the shop page using Google Chrome after you said it works and can see the change there but when I look with my default browser Safari, I realize there is no observable change. So either cache clearing is not working with Safari or the issue is with Safari?
January 17, 2020 at 9:51 pm in reply to: How to adjust the size of image when using the layout builder? #1175684Ok, thanks.
I guess there is no other way using the layout builder options to feature a single product then to use code to modify a slider?

January 16, 2020 at 5:52 pm in reply to: How to adjust the size of image when using the layout builder? #1175141Hi,
Actually I just want the product to be the size it is, just centered on the page.It is true that I am using a slider that is meant to hold at least two products or more, I did that because it is the only way I could figure out how to feature a single product.
So is there a way to just feature a single product in the center of the page?
January 16, 2020 at 5:38 pm in reply to: My sidebar fonts are smaller than the default shop example. #1175137Hi
I use LiteSpeed Cache and there is a cache clearing button at the top just to the right of “Insights”.
But I have used that and even if it is not immediate, I can look at the sites behavior with an other browser and device to see the results. However I do not see a change in the font size for my shops Nav bar? All I want to do is have the fonts to be the same size as they are in the default Enfold Shop Demo without going crazy to figure it out :-)January 15, 2020 at 7:57 pm in reply to: Problem removing tabs on WooCommerce Product page. #1174656Hi Rikard,
That worked for the reviews, thank you! Any way to understand why turning off reviews within WooCommerce settings did not work?
Also can you provide me with the code to remove the Additional Information tab as well?
Thanks so much

January 15, 2020 at 7:13 pm in reply to: How to adjust the size of image when using the layout builder? #1174644Hey,
The 1/5 – 3/5 – 1/5 layout idea worked great for my home page thank you for that!
However I still can not center my featured print (product) which is the right size but not centered. The problem is in part because I am using the Product slider as I know no other way to present a single product on a page.Do you have an idea on a better idea of how to feature a single product?
Here is the link for reference:
I have now switched the site to responsive, I see the wisdom there :-)
Thanks for the support :-)

January 15, 2020 at 1:27 am in reply to: How to adjust the size of image when using the layout builder? #1173758Sure, for example:
The top image under Beautiful Angel is a video file that is centered by using the 1/3 layout element to get the video media element centered. But by doing this , the image / video is smaller than I would like. I prefer the size of the video / image when I use the 1/2 layout element BUT I can not get the video / image to be centered that way.
An other example would be on this page:
Where I am using the Product slider to feature a product for sale but I do not know how to center it? If I use the 1/3 layout element, the image will become smaller and I prefer the size it is now when viewed on a desktop.

January 15, 2020 at 1:23 am in reply to: My sidebar fonts are smaller than the default shop example. #1173757Hi,
I have added that code and purged the cache but do not see any difference. I am leaving the code there so you can see.
Hi,
I have added that code and it just moved the search magnifier to the left slightly (while viewing using an iPhone)
I will keep the code there for you to see what I am referring to.

Hey Jordan,
The reason is the aesthetic, the way the site looks, the layout.
I prefer the desktop layout to the mobile layout.
but maybe its a personal thing?
PS – I have checked “Notify me of follow up replies via email” yet I often don’t get them?
- This reply was modified 4 years, 10 months ago by gb.
Oh, yes, sorry, don’t know why I forgot that lol:
Well, I prefer the look of the desktop layout so I have opted to turn off the “responsive site” option for mobile viewing.
However 50% of my sites traffic is mobile. I realize that visitors probably zoom in to see the nav buttons and read text.
!. Is that a bad approach?
2. Does google penalize me for this in searches?
