An error of type E_COMPILE_ERROR was caused in line 39 of the file /home/content/a2pnexwpnas03_data02/87/3315087/html/wp-content/themes/enfold/functions.php. Error message: require_once(): Failed opening required ‘config-layerslider/config.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/local/php5_6/lib/php’)GoDaddy updated my WordPress today and then I went in to update Enfold. My site is showing the “white screen of death.” And I received the following email:
“Since WordPress 5.2 there is a built-in feature that detects when a plugin or theme causes a fatal error on your site, and notifies you with this automated email.
In this case, WordPress caught an error with your theme, Enfold.
First, visit your website (https://melaniebates.com/) and check for any visible issues. Next, visit the page where the error was caught (https://melaniebates.com/wp-admin/update-core.php) and check for any visible issues.
Please contact your host for assistance with investigating this issue further.”
I actually can’t see anything on my site. They did give me a temporary backend recovery mode link.
Will the instructions above fix this issue for me? Can you provide a bit more detail on how to do that and where to find everything?
I’m not a moderator, but I ended up installing a great plugin called “GDPR Cookie Consent” that is very sleek and works well. Just wanted to share as I know how stressful these GDPR requirements are and the deadline is looming. I like the look of this one better than the one included with Enfold. I myself am having a problem with my blog not showing the checkbox that should read: “Save my name, email, and website in this browser for the next time I comment.” Enfold said, “that with the latest update, which I’ve installed, that there is an option to add a checkbox to all comment forms that asks for approval of your privacy policy before sending the form.” Just not seeing it and also waiting on answers. Thank you. So…. just to clarify, page by individual page we can check “discussion” and allow for comments on these pages only? I don’t see anything below Advanced Layout Builder to enable though.
