maybe I need to change permissions on other files/folders as well?

yes I did but it’s not working after that either…

well I changed the permissions on the stylesheet file, which is now writable via WordPress admin, but the changes don’t appear yet, any clue?

quick css does the job indeed but i’d rather have the child theme stylesheet working !
