  • in reply to: Google Analytics – JavaScript error with Enfold 3.8 #707043

I would doubt that it’s something specific to my setup. It looks like the GA script is minimised, and that causes the error. I explicitly disabled JavaScript minification in any my settings (didn’t touch Enfold) to prevent these issues, and the error occurred only after the update to Enfold 3.8.

As I wrote, I worked around it by removing the GA script from the theme settings and by injecting it manually. The script is no longer minified, and it works fine.

I confirm what @mulligan101 reported. After updating WooCommerce to version 2.6.7, the quantity selector seems to have an invalid pattern attribute (it’s empty) that causes any value entered in it to be invalid. As a result, products cannot be added to the cart.

    Note
The issue doesn’t depend on the Measurements Price Calculator, I was able to reproduce it on a site without that plugin. WooCommerce is at version 2.6.7 and Enfold at version 3.8.

Thanks for the information. It’s a pity that the feature is not available, but at least I know I’m not missing a setting somewhere.

I will see if I can find an alternative. In the meantime, I will probably just leave the gallery as it is. Thanks for your time. :)

Actually, it wasn’t too difficult. I don’t normally work on themes, but I found a “half-workardound”. You can see it on my test site, here: http://test.aelia.co/shop/currency-switcher-woocommerce/. If you click on “Screenshots”, you will open the gallery.

Now I need to find a way to show a row with the thumbnails below each enlarged screenshots, so that visitors can click on a specific thumbnail to see the screenshot, instead of having to click, click, click, click and see them sequentially. The gallery uses the Lightbox included in the Enfold theme, is there a way to show such row under the zoomed images?

Thanks Elliott. Is it a bug that it’s going to be fixed in a future update?

@Devin If I may, I would like to provide some constructive criticism.

    1. There is space for a cart icon on mobile. See screenshot taken with a very small window size:
    .

The only issue I see is if someone uses a huge logo, but that could easily be fixed by scaling it down.

    2. Enfold clearly supports WooCommerce out of the box, therefore it was designed to do it. Having built-in support for a shopping cart, but leaving out the cart itself (which is, perhaps, the most important thing), on mobile platforms (used by an average of 45% of visitors) seems a choice that should be reviewed.

By the way, there is no link to the cart on your demo site either, if you visit it using a mobile phone.

How does your Currency Switcher work with Enfold? :)

The Currency Switcher works perfectly. That was one of the reason why we bought the Enfold theme. We have a customer who uses it, so we installed it on a test site to verify how it would work, and it was perfect out of the box. Besides, our Currency Switcher implements simple widgets, and it also allows to override their templates, if needed, so it’s a winning combination. :)

    Update
If you wish, we can give you a special coupon code that you can send to your clients to get a discount on our products. We do not have an affiliate program in place yet, but that’s on our list. :)

    Thanks Yigit, much appreciated. :)

in reply to: Can I update from 2.8.1 to 2.9.1 safely? #301335

Thanks Devin. I didn’t change anything in the main theme, nor I created a child theme. I changed some CSS, but I did it separately, without touching Enfold at all.

I was asking before upgrading because I tend to guarantee and expect full backward compatibility, but I noticed that such expectation is not met way too often in WordPress environment. :)
