October 30, 2014 at 10:20 pm in reply to: Issue with WPML Language switcher not loading correctly on main menu #343759
HI guys,
Any update with the WPML switcher issue in the menu?
I cannot unfortunately move on with making the site multilingual until I find out how to avoid having all the flags showing up side by side in the menu and messing up everything.
Thank you for your time, I really appreciate.

October 30, 2014 at 9:18 am in reply to: Incorrect Rendering of Video in Fullscreen Slider with Firefox #343290Thanks for checking Andy!
I’ll need some help from someone hopefully knowing how to load/render an http:// YouTube video into an https:// so that I can embed YouTube videos in the site with SSL certificate without having those errors that you encountered.
I tried using the following procedure (see link http://engagingcomms.com/Easy-way-to-Configure-SSL-for-Amazon-S3-bucket-via-Cloudflare-115) since I’m using CloudFlare for my SSL site, but I must have probably done something incorrectly if you still got the error message.
Anyone knows how to turn http YouTube videos into https links?
Thank you,
Antonio
Problem Solved!
FYI adding a ‘full width button’ element to the page causes the sidebar to break and widgets to disappear.
I removed the full width button and sidebar widgets magically reappeared :)

October 17, 2014 at 1:34 pm in reply to: Remove comments and dates on blog page post slider element #337293Thanks Yigit!
Works great. Any chance it can be applied to the Enfold Combo widget as well showing up within the page? Date can be still seen there.
Thank you :)

October 15, 2014 at 11:53 am in reply to: Error Message on Pageload on mobile device and Safari iOS #336062Thank you so much Kriesi!
Problems still persist on the iPhones we have in the family (all 4S), but I guess I’ll find a way through.
Thanks for the tip on WP Superchache, I’ll try that instead on W3 Total Cache. Much appreciated, honored to have you personally respond and my most sincere congratulations for the outstanding work you are carrying out.
I’m one of the many super raving fans of Enfold and in my community it’s used and appreciated by many fellow members.

October 14, 2014 at 6:53 pm in reply to: Error Message on Pageload on mobile device and Safari iOS #335707Here is a website report I was just given (that I don’t really understand unfortunately), which identifies quite a lot of things that cause the site to be so slow.
http://www.webpagetest.org/result/141014_JT_T9J/1/details/
Apparently part of it is due to the server. A good deal of it though seems to be generated by the theme.
I will try and set up Cloudflare now and I may consider W3Total Cache, though I’m afraid I may make some damage because I don’t know how to set it up correctly…
Hopefully you can guide me to a safer path.
Thanks,
Antonio
October 14, 2014 at 4:55 pm in reply to: Error Message on Pageload on mobile device and Safari iOS #335654PS: The error problem is for example occurring just now on my iPhone and those of my wife and daughter…page stops loading, saying an error occurred and keeps reloading in an infinite loop.
Other websites load fine from iphone. Do you have any clue where should I look?
Thanks.

October 14, 2014 at 4:43 pm in reply to: Error Message on Pageload on mobile device and Safari iOS #335646Hi Yigit,
Thanks for checking. The problem comes and goes…
I’m developing the site without plugins because I want a clean version before I start adding things. The only ones I currently have are Akismet, Clean Talk anti spam and Awesome Weather, which I added just a couple of days ago well after the problem occurred.
The site is on https, hosted with Namecheap, I asked them why it’s so slow and they suggest I use Cloudflare and WP Total Cache. I’ve never tried Cloudflare before and am a little worried about WP Total Cache because of its settings which may cause issue with the site…
Do you have any recommendation? If you notice, the site uses lots of elements on each page. Could that be a cause of the slow load time?
Thanks for your always awesome support and for solving the issues I find along the way.
I’m really happy with the results coming through Enfold. The site I’m currently working on may be the best and most comeplling site I ever created. Hopefully, I’ll be able to make it load faster too.I noticed that the fullscreen slider take a lot of time to load, regardless of the fact that I super compressed the images. Is there a way to make them load faster?
Thanks
Antonio
Thank you so much, you rock!

Antonio
Awesome Yigit! It worked!
Which code do I need to make the same exact thing for the header menu links? That is, white upon loading and grey upon scroll?
Antonio
This reply has been marked as private.I found the issue. It’s related to the fact that the site is using https:// protcol and the script in the footer was considered unsafe, as it was using http:// rather than https://
Will have to look for a weather plugin that supports https.
;)

Hi Josue,
I think I solved the issue… I didn’t notice that one of the new great options of Enfold 3.0 is the one to choose not to display the Logo and header with the default template. So I tried that one and displayed the footer as I wanted.
It works so far.
Thanks
October 8, 2014 at 9:36 am in reply to: How to recreate translucent background box in Animated Numbers element in 3.0? #332215Hi Josue,
I don’t see it appearing by default if I click the animated numbers element…maybe there is something not appearing?
I just sent you the private credentials to log into my dashboard as admin for the other issue related to the submenu, maybe you can look into that too.
Meanwhile however, I solved this problem by adding again the code in the Quick CSS field.
Thanks,
Antonio

before I make any damages, since I’m not a coder, can you tell me where inside the functions.php file do I add the line
add_theme_support(‘avia_template_builder_custom_css’); ?
Also, do I need to add this line to which of the following two files within Enfold:
1) functions-enfold.php
2) Theme Functions
Lastly, if I look at the Theme Functions file, there seems to be a ‘add_theme_support(‘avia_template_builder_custom_css’);’ line already at the bottom of the file….so maybe you added that already in 3.0.1?
Thanks,
Antonio

September 25, 2014 at 11:11 pm in reply to: How to set button in Fullscreen Slider to direct to a section of the page below? #325320Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to work Josue, thanks.
Nothing happens when I click on the button. I doesn’t scroll anywhere.
Maybe there is another way around?

seems to be fine now, Jouse, thanks!

HI Devin,
Do you still see it now? If so, do you know what kind of error so I can ask maybe SSL support to check that out?
The images started to appear so I don’t know if Hosting support did anything.
Thanks,
Antonio

Hi Devin!
Took me a while but I recreated the site on a subdomain and on a new clean WP installation.
Now that everything seems to work fine I notice a little thing that has to do with the way galleries are rendered in the WPML translated pages, which differ slightly from the English original version.
Have a look at these two examples:
A) http://casitasitges.com/sitges/
B) http://casitasitges.com/fr/sitges/
Please scroll down to the first section (Welcome to Sitges in the original A version, Bienvenue a Sitges in the French B version) and note how the gallery displays snapshot correctly in version A whereas it displays them incorrectly, not in line on version B.
I see that while in A seems like the rendering puts them all at the same size, in B it doesn’t, which probably causes the bad look.
I also see that because it’s maintained by WPML I can only load the gallery on the main A page, whereas if I try load it on the B page I see nothing, which makes me assume that Galleries can only be edited on the main English site and all changes will propagate to the other languages pages, since it’s using only one gallery. Is that correct?
Is there maybe a fix to the issue I just mentioned of A ad B displaying differently. The different display of the snapshots not in line is something I noticed since the beginning of Enflod and I thought there was something to make them look all in line and nicely displayed regardless of their size.
Hope to hear from you soon and thanks for all you do. I think Enfold is truly the best theme ever and I owe you a lot!
Antonio
PS: I saw that maybe a workaround would be to try and recreate the same gallery on each page, but that wouldn’t really seem like an ideal solution. Maybe a quick CSS fix would be better?
PPS: Maybe it’s a fix for a next release? Also, I saw there is a new Layerslider version released. Do you plan to implement it on the next release?- This reply was modified 10 years, 3 months ago by abortolotti.
Thanks Devin,
I took the very suffered decision to redo the site completely! I set up a subdomain, installed a brand new WP and Enfold and restarted the whole process… I’ve been on the site over 12 hours today and fortunately, I managed to recreate everything seamlessly.
The site is only in English though, as I haven’t installed WPML nor any plugins yet. I just did a full back up using UpdraftPlus plugin.
I will then reinstall WPML and hope I won’t have problems having the site back multilingual as the other is.
Then, if everything works fine I’ll plan on moving the site from the subdomain to the main domain (I don’t know how to do it, but I guess it won’t be hell and maybe the tech support at my server can do that for me).
Thanks for your help. I appreciate anyway.
Do you think this solution is a feasible one, though really a hard one for me?
Antonio
Hi!
Both my client and I are on Mac OS X and the browsers are both Chrome and Safari.
hope that helps, thanks.
Antonio
Hi Yigit,
Unfortunately, there must be definitely something not working on the site…
Even with almost all the plugins deactivated and WPML in place, my client told me she can’t manipulate the images in the gallery element present on http://casitasitges.com/fr/appartement/
I tried then adding a new gallery element on the page to see whether I could bypass the problem that way and the result is that once I published the gallery with ‘x’ different images and use the big preview with small images below, it loads always the same landscape image of the town skyline by night, which I didn’t even add to the gallery.
I tried the same process on a different page with the same exact results: once I save and update the page, the live version shows the same gallery with the same single town skyline by night image.
You may want to try it yourself to see the problem and maybe figure a way out?
Thank you. We are all unfortunately really frustrated, my client above all, because she can’t do anything she wanted with the site, and all this behavior started out of the blue a few weeks ago, without us doing anything to the site.
We started seeing the image duplication of our library, to reach over 30,000 copies of images ‘by itself’ (!!!), so we checked WPML support forum and found others started having exactly the same issue. So we contacted WPML support who apparently fixed the issue, but I have no idea what they did to the images to delete all the copies and restore the normal library.
Hope this maybe can cast some light on what to look at….
Antonio
