Yes, I was trying to upload just the theme zip, not the whole zip containing documentation, etc.

I have uploaded using FTP. However, being a premium theme, as popular as it is, I am disappointed that it won’t work with the standard wordpress upload function. After all, the point of a theme I thought was that the user didn’t need to be tech-minded at all, and using ftp is not user friendly as much as the simple upload function.
