Just went to a client’s site, which is under construction, and tried to edit some text. Strangely, the bar in the visual editor was missing and the text appeared white on white. I can edit in the HTML in the Text editor.

Checked other sites I built with Enfold, including my own, set up the same way and they are all functioning fine.

Thanks for your help. This is so odd.

    Hey ampersand123,

    Thank you for using Enfold.

Have you tried to disable the plugins? What is the version of the theme in your installation? Please use the email in the private field.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

Thanks for getting back to me Ismael.

Yes, I’ve disabled the plugins and flushed the cache. The site is running version 4.4.1

I’ve checked other sites running the same version and no problem.

    Hi,

Thanks for that, though the details don’t seem to be working. Could you check and verify please?

    Best regards,
    Rikard

Sorry that didn’t work, Rikard. Attached are the new details.

Wondering whether I should reinstall the theme. Will await your reply.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

    Thanks for the update.

There’s a lot of errors in the console but I’m not sure what causes it. Please add this code in the wp-config.php file so that we can isolate the script that is causing the issue.

    define('CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS', false );

    Best regards,
    Ismael

Things seem to be going from bad to worse. I was unable to access the backend via FTP and contacted the host. After an hour of trying different things, I was told the hosts’s server was having problems and advised to wait a bit to see if things resolve. Just checked checked again and have gotten an http error 500 :(

As soon as I’m able to gain access <fingers crossed> hopefully soon.

Thanks again for all your help.

    Hi Victoria,

This is really a story of too many cooks.

Still no resolution and will be having a conference call tomorrow with the person handling SEO for the site and the client. Will keep you posted.

    Cheers! &123

Well after many attempts and hours the site is back up and running correctly. It wasn’t a problem with the theme as it happened when I was able to install another to check. Tried clearing the cache and no luck.We moved it to another server, to be able to get to the backend, and the problem still existed.

I finally rebuilt from the ground up on a test site and it was uploaded successfully this morning. I’m not sure what happened. There was a problem installing the latest version of Enfold (this was the only site I manage using Enfold including my own) that this happened to. So I am guessing it may have been a WordPress upgrade glitch.

At any rate, I truly appreciate the continued support and guidance. You all are stars!!!

    Hi,

Thank you for the kind words. I tried to troubleshoot the text editor issue you are facing but the WP admin link is not working.

We want to resolve this as soon as possible, please provide all the necessary details such as

    1. Working credentials.
    2. Elaborate issue.
    3. How we can reproduce it.
    4. What browser you are facing the issue on.
    5. Permission to deactivate plugins for testing purpose.

Look forward to hearing from you soon.

    Best regards,
    Vinay

Thanks for following up on this issue, VInay.

I replied to Victoria this morning about this issue. The other person working on this project is a programmer. He was able to get into the backend to put the line of code in by moving the site to another server. The result was the site crashed. He removed the code and it was live with the same problem. He tried clearing the crash, which apparently has worked with this issue in the past. Still no visual tool bar. But by moving the site I was able to install another theme and the same problem was there. So it appears that this was a WordPress issue rather that a theme problem. The programmer thinks it was a host issue but I suspect that something happened during an upgrade to the system. In the end, I recreated the site which fortunately wasn’t too large, deleted all the old files on the server and replaced it with the new and it’s working now.

I truly appreciate the attention you’ve all paid to this problem and will continue to recommend the theme to other designers as well as any new client.

    Hi,

Glad you got it working. To avoid recreating the site in such a situation you can use a plugin like Updraft to create daily or hourly backups and upload to google drive or your own FTP site. It will be easy to just revert back to a point when the site was working fine. We will go ahead and close the ticket now. In case you have any issue in future please open a new ticket also take a moment to review our theme and show your support https://themeforest.net/downloads

Don’t forget to bookmark Enfold Documentation for future reference.

Thank you for using Enfold :)

    Best regards,
    Vinay
