    Hi,
I’d like to make some changes to my blog page. Because I don’t want to have to manually add a comments section to every post I opted for e Grid View but I want to know how I can add one large featured post at the top of the page?

    Hey Rgrant74,

Please post us your login credentials (in the “private data” field), so we can take a look at your backend.

    1. Install and activate ” Temporary Login Without Password “.
    2. Go to ” Users > Temporary Logins ” on the left-side menu.
    3. Click ” Create New “.
    4. Add the email address for the account ( you can use (Email address hidden if logged out) ), as well as the ” Role ” making that the highest possible and the expiry about four days
( do be sure that we have enough time to debug ).
    5. Click ” Submit “.
    6. You’ll now have a temporary account. Please provide us here in the private section the URL, so we can login and help you out.

When your issue is fixed, you can always remove the plugin!
If you prefer to not use the plugin, you can manually create a admin user and post the login credentials in the “private data” field.

    Best regards,
    Basilis

    Hi,

    Thank you for update.

Add another blog posts element above the current one. Set the “Post Number” settings to 1 and the “Offset Number” to the second option.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

How do I do that? I’m not using the Avia builder for my blog I am using Theme Options > Blog Layout > Grid Layout

As I mentioned, I am not using then 4th option (Use Advanced layout editor…) because I do not want to have to manually add a comments section with each post

    Hi,

I see. You can’t do that without using the advance layout builder, unfortunately. You need to set the blog to use the ALB.

So there is no way to customize the preset grid layout? What about just having an image or text above where the grid begins? If I could do that I could at least create a header for the page instead of it just being the grid and that’s it

And if I use the ALB is there a way to have comments appear for each blog post without having to manually adding the field to each post?

    Hi,

Are you planning to apply the image on every posts? Please note that setting the blog to use the advance layout builder is not going to affect the post items. That option will only be applied to the blog overview or the main blog page. You can still use the default editor for the posts. If you did enable the advance layout builder for the blog, edit the blog page and then switch to the advance layout builder. Add the Blog Posts element, set it to grid layout and you’re done. You can then customize the main blog page as you wish.

You have to edit the index.php file manually if you want to customize the blog page without using the advance layout builder.

    Best regards,

Thanks Ishmael…for some reason when I was using ALB for the blog page comments were’t showing on the post pages so I switched to Grid. Now that I’ve switched back to ALB the comments see to still be there.

    Hi,

Did you use the advance layout builder for the post pages? The comments section is not going to display when you’re not using the default editor, so you have to insert the “Comments” element manually. Again, setting the blog layout to “use the alb..” should not affect the post pages.

    Best regards,
    Ismael
