Hi support,
The last week I’ve experienced a lot of very inconvenient problems with WPML translations, after I’ve updated.
Seems there is a bug somewhere, I have read the discussed support threads on here, but I am not sure.I’ve already contacted WPML about it, but it takes forever. In the mean time I can’t use my website as I should have. So it is not the ideal situation…
Let me explain:
– I have 3 languages on my website: Dutch, English and German. Dutch is the main language.
– On my website I use posts as new listings for machines, which incl. image galleries, a text block and a block for contact form 7. In each post, the text block gets manually translated, the image gallery stays the same.
– With the new update of WPML, I can only see the image gallery for the main language. When translating, I can add images to the gallery on the backend of English/German translation, only to visit the post in that said language, and the image gallery is empty. When I set images to ‘Not translatable’ I can luckily see all image galleries in all languages, for previously posted posts.
But when I try to add a new translation for a posts, I can’t see any image gallery for translations, nor in back- or front end.I hope this explaination is clear. I saw somewhere that a few PHP files need to be edited in order to make things work again. I am just not sure if that is also for this problem.

Please send us a temporary admin login and login URL so that we can have a closer look. You can post the details in the Private Content section of your reply. Also please point out where we can see and reproduce the problem on your site.

August 7, 2018 at 10:48 pm #994600Hi Rikard, any chance you had time to take a look?
Seems like WPML doesn’t get any short term solution, which means we’re almost 2 weeks without any possibility to update our website.
What should I do? I can’t wait for an update or bug fix that comes with an update. Seems like it is a compability problem with WPML and Enfold theme, although I have no idea where to look for an solution… Can you please help me out?August 9, 2018 at 1:32 pm #995457Hi,
Sorry for the late reply.
As a first step please have a look at this: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/massive-problems-since-wp-update-to-4-9-7/#post-984318
As WPML stated, these changes should fix the problem when using the latest Version of WPML.
If you do not want to update the files manually, I can send you a stable dev version of Enfold including the fixes (give me your E-Mail in private content) and you can check, if this solves your problems.
If not, you can get in touch with the WPML compatibility team so they can check your server settings.
Best regards,
GünterAugust 9, 2018 at 1:41 pm #995462Hi Güther, thank you so much for getting back at me. I’ll have a look at the post, I have found it before when searching for a solution, but was not sure if it will work. I’ll give it a try, and let you know how it works out.
Can you also send the dev version of Enfold? I have added my email in the private content
Thank you,
Deborah

I have asked Gunter to take a look again!

BasilisAugust 10, 2018 at 8:26 am #995845Thanks Basilis.
I’ve already been in contact with WPML, and we are not getting any possible solution.
The only thing I want is a working image library that can be used for my three languages (instead of 3 seperate for each language, this creates a huge database, and is unnecessary) , and a working image gallery on my translated post.
WPML does give a reply every now and then, but seems they do not know a short term solution…August 10, 2018 at 3:46 pm #996030Hi,
Thanks for the update.
One of the users found a possible solution. You can see it in the following thread.
// https://kriesi.at/support/topic/alb-elements-are-missing-in-translated-pages-wpml/#post-995955
Let us know if that helps.
Best regards,
