Hi, I would like to move the underline that appears underneath each main menu item. Instead of having that underline be at the very bottom of each main menu item, I would like it to be roughly 10px below the menu item text. For example if a user is on the “About” page, then the horizontal underline that appears underneath that menu item should appear 10px below the “About” text within the main menu. When a user hovers over the text, the horizontal underline should also be 10px underneath the text.

Right now I’m also using the “Sticky Header”, “Shrinking Header”, and “Unstick topbar” options. I’ll need the underneath to behave normally just closer to the actual text.

    Is this doable? Thanks!

    Hi Victoria,

Thanks for the links, the first linked helped a little and I think we are close. I can set the underline to about 10px underneath the main menu items, but when the header shrinks or grow, the line moves up and down. It should always stay around 10px below the menu item at all times. If you look at the website currently you can see what I’m referring. If you scroll the page quickly you might miss this, but if you slowly scroll the page so that the menu main shrinks and grows slowly you’ll see what I mean.

Any thoughts on how to keep that line from moving up and down?

    Hi CodeSamurai,

The thing is the border is at the bottom of the element which height is changing with the header height and it cannot be in the fixed spot. If you don’t use the shrinking header it will remain in the same position.

If you need further assistance please let us know.
    Best regards,
    Victoria

    Hi,

Just to make sure I’m explaining everything correctly, I need the line to always stay about 10px below the menu item even as the header shrinks and grows. I don’t want the line to stay at the same fixed position on the page, the line should always be relative to the menu item above it. I wanted to make that clarification just in case. If you can please verify that to be the situation I’ll try a different approach.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

But, if the header shrinks, then the line would be outside of the header section, so it wouldnt be able to modify it unfortunately.

    Best regards,
    Basilis
