    I have just set up a new wordpress installation and installed the enfold child theme using “add” in the wordpress themes section. Then using ftp copied the enfold directory to the themes folder as I could not install using add as I had for the child theme.

    I then activated the child theme and tried to import parent theme settings but I get a message “Import didnt work!” at the end it says “No Parent Theme Options Found. There is nothing to import)”

    Suggestions and assistance appreciated.

    I just realised that I posted above under my home login and the Enfold site I am now setting up is registered in ThemeForest against my work email so I have setup this account which has support for Enfold. Sorry for any confusion.

    Hi,
    I took a look at your site & see that you have Enfold & a child theme, with the child theme active.
    You have not installed any demos, so there is nothing to import into the child theme.
    You are now ready to build your site or import a demo, everything going forward with be done under the child theme.

    Thanks Mike,

    First time I have used a child theme.

    So do I take it that as I developed the site I keep importing into the Child theme on a regular basis to ensure the personalisation tweaks are retained. Therefore when the parent is updated the personalisation of the site is retained.

    Or are files that get altered are automatically saved into the child theme?

    Hi,
    Your changes are automatically saved to the child theme, as long as the child theme is the active theme.
