    hello dear support team,

I am currently designing a page for a customer: http://neu.elianafe.com
On the Home page, as shown on the DESKTOP PC, a background image should be displayed in the background of the page. See also screenshot: http://elianafe.com/support/screen_desktop.png

The background image should look nice over the entire screen surface and be fixed.

    – On the one hand I have the question: how big I have to create the background image, so that it is displayed on every screen over the entire surface.
    – Second, the even more important question: on the tablet, the wallpaper shown appears only in a small Bildauchnitt. Likewise on the phone.

however, the image should be displayed in the background on all media (desktop, tablet, smartphone): shown as a fixed element over the entire image area.

Could you please help me with this setting?
And what size should I use when creating the image?

    Thank you for your processing!

    Hey DianaLoola73,

    Thank you for using Enfold.

how big I have to create the background image,

Use the size that will work for the standard screen resolutions.

    // https://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_display.asp

Unfortunately, fixed backgrounds don’t work properly on phones and tablets specially on iOS.

    // https://caniuse.com/#feat=background-attachment

     - iOS has an issue preventing background-attachment: fixed from being used with background-size: cover.
    - Chrome has an issue that occurs when using the will-change property on a selector which also has background-attachment: fixed defined. It causes the image to get cut off and gain whitespace around it.
    - Firefox does not appear to support the local value when applied on a textarea element.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Thank you !

I have one more question concerning the page http://neu.elianafe.com:
we would like to create this page bilingual. At the moment there is only a German version, but the whole content should be translated in English and at the top of the page (top right, as already created as text) should be able to switch between the German and the English content.
Since I do not have any experience with creating an English version, I wanted to ask how I manage this in the ENFOLD theme the most? Do I need a plugin for this? is this chargeable? And as a web designer can I buy this or does the customer need to buy it?

    Thanks for your support!
    Best regards Diana

    Hi Diana,

If you want a multilingual site then you can use a plugin yes, there are several of them out there. Enfold is compatible with WPML and it’s a paid plugin. You could also create a new installation and copy all of your content to it and translate it on the new site.

Who pays for what is up to you to decide.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi Rikard,

if I choose the possibility to create a new installation and copy all of my content to it to have an english version of the site (in addition to the german version) can I use for this version the same purchase code of ENFOLD or do I have to buy another license?
Moreover, I still have the question of whether there is also the possibility within the German version of all pages to copy and here to integrate the English page with the same. Or does this approach have a drawback?
Thank you for answering my questions!
    Best regards Diana

    Hi,

You can use the same license if the new site is on the same domain, for instance your.site/en.

Moreover, I still have the question of whether there is also the possibility within the German version of all pages to copy and here to integrate the English page with the same. Or does this approach have a drawback?

I don’t understand your question. Could you try to rephrase please?

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Please excuse my bad formulation
My question was: A customer of mine would need to have a German as well as English version of his page. And so I thought of simply duplicating the German pages using the TEMPLATE editor and simply inserting the English content into the newly created, duplicated pages. Would this be a possibility?

    Best regards

    Hi DianaLoola73,

You should really consider using WPML to be able to have pages in two different languages.

If you need further assistance please let us know.
    Best regards,
    Victoria
