I am going to optimize the images on my site. I went to where the images were uploaded to. I noticed that every image has multiple sizes for each. Whys it that?

Also, what I want to do is copy the upload folder with all the images for the site and optimize them and copy and over write the ones there, will the site not no the differences in the images as log as size wise (pixels) remain the same?

    Hey Gene,

This should give you a better idea of why the multiple images are produced:

OK that explains the multiple images, thanks.. I have not problem with them.. But do you have an answer for the second part of my post above?

Also, what I want to do is copy the upload folder with all the images for the site and optimize them and copy and over write the ones there, will the site not no the differences in the images as log as size wise (pixels) remain the same?

    Hi,

Ah yes, that should be fine as long as the image name remains consistent.
