Hey guys,
I’m working on adding a travel section to my site.
Hence, I have downloaded and installed the CPT UI plugin to create custom post types and custom taxonomies to keep these posts separate from my blog posts and portfolio entries.
I successfully created custom post types “travels” and a new custom taxonomy “experiences”. I even managed to get the Avia Layout builder to work properly with my new “travels” custom post types, but:
My “experiences” custom taxonomy won’t show up on the drop-down field, when, for instance, I’m trying to display my “travels” posts in a masonry grid. I also attached the “travels” CPT to the “experiences” custom taxonomy … Where am I going wrong here?
The other issue is that my “travels” CPT are linked to the existing categories of my blog. Isn’t it possible to work with new custom categories? For instance, instead of using any of my blog post categories, I’d like to create a unique category for every travel or destination I went to.
Many thanks for looking into that. As always, I appreciate any pointers …

Unfortunately, it would require quite some time and customization of the theme to achieve this, so I am sorry to tell you that this is not covered by our support. However, if it’s really important for you to get this done, you can always hire a freelancer to do the job for you :)
Best regards,
BasilisJune 21, 2018 at 10:11 am #975726I’m terribly sorry Basilis, but supporting problems with custom post types and custom taxonomies seems common practice here. I also don’t think that addressing an issue, where merely a custom taxonomy is missing in the drop-down window of corresponding content elements would require “quite some time and customization of the theme”.
Enfold has changed a lot lately; hence, many existing tips to troubleshoot and fix issues like this simply no longer apply. Naturally, this will cause users to struggle with problems like this.
That said, it seems that your response above is just a canned standard response you use whenever you’re not motivated to address an issue. So, why bother responding in the first place? Maybe there’s another moderator or participant out there who is willing to lend a helping hand and who wants to help that customers get the most out of working with Enfold.
