    Hi,

I have changed my site address URL to my ‘production’ URL. After this the icons I used form the Iconbox are not shown anymore.
I have tried to fix it with the plugins ‘Velvet Blues Update URLs’ and ‘Better Search Replace’. In the wp-admin I can see all the icons, but once I want to see it on the site, I don’t see the icons. In Chrome I see just squares and in Edge I see nothing.
I have also changed my wp-config.php and defined both URL’s.

Could you please help me out in retrieving the icons back to the site?

    Cheers,

    Nataliya

    Hey shermski,
They are not showing due to CORS policy, the font needs to be hosted on the same domain.
I recommend moving your site to your production domain, it seems that you are mask forwarding right now, but if you click any menu item you are sent to your dev domain where the icons work.

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Hi Mike,
I have placed my backup back, because too many things were not working.
i am not sure if I am able to move my site to that production domain. I wouldn’t know how, since I have just the domain and not the hosting there…

Since there is the option in WordPress to have a different WordPress site, than the site address, I would expect this will work.
Is there not another way to have this working properly?

    Kind regards,

    Nataliya

    Hi,
You could, first you would need to set up WordPress
Then you would need to set up your CORS headers
it can be tricky and you might want to hire someone to set it up for you.
Can I ask if your webhost has the “Domain Addon” option?
This would be a lot easier, watch this video

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Hi,

My webhost does not have the Domain Addon option.
I have currenlty the following (see private content) in my .htaccess file.
Is this correct for using http://www.groosomtravel.nl as my site and using the admin site as my admin page?

If not, please let me know how this should be changed.

    Kind regards,

    Nataliya

    Hi Nataliya,

The icons are showing fine on both websites. Did you manage to get it working?

    Best regards,
    Victoria

    Hi Victoria,

Yes, I did. I changed the URL on both Site address and WordPress address to the same URL.
This worked. But I would have liked that I could leave the WordPress address to the previous though…

    Kind regards,

    Herman
