Hi, we have 2 WordPress installed (mirrored it for the second language (German/English).
It’s still in a test environment and both installations are htaccess protected. The subdomain (en. in front of domain name) is redirected into the english version in a folder /wp-en/ so that all URLs should look like “en.domainname.de/permalink”
The home page looks ok, except little icons missing, I thought it’s the CORS-related issue and put the code you suggested into the htaccess, but that’s not the reason. All other pages still link into the folder /wp-en/ and are fine, but we want the URLs to be clean without seeing this folder for going online.
I tried the WordPress settings for the website address, but then I get errors for all pages except the home page. Changing the database (removing all “/wp-en/”) also doesn’t work.
Hope you can help?
June 12, 2018 at 3:51 am #971489Hey Dirk,
Thank you for using Enfold.
The htaccess authentication isn’t working. It just redirects back to the same blank page and asks for the same authentication. Please check it carefully. We need to see the W P M L settings.

BasilisJune 14, 2018 at 7:10 am #972636Hi Basilis,
I don’t know what’s wrong? I checked 3 different browsers on a Mac and an iPad, on which I never opened the site before, only on the iPad I had to try twice, but then no problems at all!
It’s very important to get help, what could I do else? The credentials work.
Best regards,

DirkJune 20, 2018 at 6:45 am #975110Hi,
The icons on the “German” language display properly on my end. Is this fixed?

IsmaelJune 20, 2018 at 8:19 am #975147Hi,
there never was an icon-issue on the German version!
The main issue is the URL structure of the English version. We want to go online and really need a solution urgently.

DirkJune 20, 2018 at 12:10 pm #975233Hi,
When I look at your English sub-domain, the icons show. Please see screenshot in Private Content area.
I checked with Chrome, Firefox, Edge & IE11 on Windows.Best regards,
MikeJune 20, 2018 at 1:22 pm #975282Hi,
again: The issue is not about the icons!
We want a clean URL-structure for the English version, the subdomain works, but only for the start page.
Rest of the pages link into viewable folder /wp-en/, please look here: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/second-language-subdomain-errors-in-url-structure/#post-970294Best regards,
DirkJune 20, 2018 at 1:59 pm #975297Hi,
Oh, I see now, you will need to adjust the .htaccess files for the domain & sub-domain
I believe the link explains the setup you are looking for.Best regards,
