For some reason I cannot edit functions.php and other files of the child theme in the WP backend anymore but need to use FTP instead. When I make changes and press “Update File”, it takes a few minutes and then the following message appears:

Something went wrong. Your change may not have been saved. Please try again. There is also a chance that you may need to manually fix and upload the file over FTP.

This happens on all our sites with different setups (Nginx & Apache). Is this a WP issue or an Enfold issue?

    Thanks!

    Hey essjb,

It sounds like it’s a WordPress/Server issue, most likely server. Do you see any error messages if you inspect the page when you get that error and check the console tab?

    Best regards,

No error when I inspect the page. IMHO it cannot be a server issue as this happens on three different hosts (two running Apache and one running Nginx). Oh well, it’s no big deal right now as I’m through with all the changes for now and probably won’t touch the files for some time :-)

    Hi,

Thanks for the feedback. Maybe it’s something wrong with your code? Since WordPress recently implemented code checks before actually saving code using the editor, that error might be due to a time-out or something similar when checking the code you are adding?

    Best regards,
    Rikard
