child theme not working

I have asked about this topic at least 3 times and have not received an answer that fixes the problem. My child theme, which I uploaded from the Enfold child theme folder, is not working. I have provided the credentials for logging in to my site but received no response. I would appreciate a timely response and suggestions on how to make the child theme work. When I try and apply a basic style to test the theme, such as p{color:blue} there is no change in the paragraph color for the theme. Why is that?
