    HI Kriesi-Team.

First of all: Thanks for the great 4.4-update. It works well here without bigger problems and offers great options.

Here´s my question: I use your google analytics shortcode (“[av-privacy_google_tracking]”) in my data protection site, to offer the possibility to deactivate the tracking (see link in private content area).
The problem now is: When I open the site, the icon is set to “active” automatically. I would like to have the icon deactivated until the user decides to activate it for blocking the google tracking – wouldn´t this be more logically?

Thanks for your help and greetings
    Manuel

    Hi Manuel!

The feature was not implemented to have the tracking off, since just showing you’re doing and have an option to opt out is the level of the implementation that meets the requirements. Here a reply from Kriesi

from what we gathered in our research its not necessary and therefore was not added. everyone who is doing google tracking has a legitimate interest to do so for reasons of site improvement, analyzing your visitor demographic, etc

If you got legitimate interest in doing something this is usually enough to do it, as long as you disclose what you are doing in the privacy policy.

    Best regards,
    Victoria
