I use a WordPress plugin called wpDataTables on my site SolarCAM.us. The plugin has worked fine with the Enfold theme until I updated the Enfold theme plugin to version 4.3.1. I switched my theme to the default 2017 WordPress theme just to test, and the wpDataTables plugin started working again fine after switching to that.
The error I am getting in the Firefox developer console when loading the page with the plugin is “TypeError: wp.media is not a function.” and references the file wpdatatables.js:954:45. I contacted the developer of wpDataTables regarding this, who confirmed it is a theme conflict issue.
Can you help me resolve this? I will provide the URL and admin login credentials privately for troubleshooting. Thanks!

I am afraid you’ll need to contact the plugin author for more info about the issue. Making third-party plugins compatible with the theme is unfortunately beyond the support scope we offer. Sorry for that!
Best regards,

I contacted the wpDataTables plugin developer, and got a similar “this is outside the scope of our support” response:
“As I explain you in early post that wp.media handler from some code in theme is not available or it is modify on front-end. You are seeing same error because it is turn off option for minimizing js and css files so you are see in which original file that happens. Our plugin is using wp.media handler which is built in wordpress handler is used to handle and control the admin media modal. It is located in the wp scope/namespace. Theme response is standard response in this situations and have same policy as ours. But you will have this issues with all other plugins which are using this wordpress built in option.
Please note that standard item support (as defined by Envato’s definition of support) does not include:
Customization services; Installation services; Writing MySQL queries; Writing advanced CSS; Resolving and debugging third party software and hardware issues; Preparing files and tables; Skype, Teamviewer calls or etc. Support with such requests can be provided on a paid basis.”I will come up with a work around for this, just figured I’d let you know that the wpDataTables plugin no longer works with the latest update of the Enfold theme, so anyone trying to use it will run into the same issue I did. Thanks.
