Hi
as you probably know your sharing-buttons are not according to EU-Law.
The only safe way to use share-buttons are “shareiff”-buttons:

When can we expect a new version of Enfold thats DSGVO/GDPR-compatible?kind regards Max

YigitMay 24, 2018 at 7:20 pm #961802Hi
i am not able to reply to Kriesis comment.
So i am posting it here. This does not seem as a simple link to me since it brings together two things – a PHP file from facebook and as a parameter the shared URL.
http://www.facebook.com/sharer.php?u=http://www.example.com/some-url/&t=%E2%80%9Etitle%E2%80%9C%20of%20the%20post%29
I am not sure if this can be considered as a plain link.Maybe you can explain us what the difference is between this “simple link” and a version that is not ccompatible with the the GDPR.
Whats the technical difference?May 24, 2018 at 7:52 pm #961817Hi,
You can have links to external sites on your website and they do not transmit any data. If a visitor clicks on one of those links, they end up on another site which is not your responsibility.
Cheers!
YigitMay 24, 2018 at 8:22 pm #961826Can you give me negativeexample please?
Just to see the differenceMay 24, 2018 at 8:24 pm #961829btw: I dont talk about the socialmedia-links like http://twitter.com/kriesi
I am talking about the sharing-buttonsMay 25, 2018 at 10:34 am #962005Hi Guys, i agree wit digitalprint222 that the social media share buttons (those under the blog post and not the plain links to the social media profile site, for eg. in the head menu) are not compliant with the GDPR. I would appreciate an implemented solution instead of using Shariff Wrapper as a standalone plugin. Is there something to come?
Best regards.May 25, 2018 at 3:43 pm #962216Hi,
By “simple link” we simply mean “a link”. Share buttons do not transmit any data, they are just external links. Clicking on them redirects users to respective app/website and that is no longer your responsibility. You can have external links on your website and while it is not necessary, you can add it to your privacy policy if you would like to inform your users.
Best regards,
Yigit -
