I am trying to clean up some of the featured images on our blog,
Right now, when viewed on a desktop, the images are very blurry when compared to the source image that is being uploaded. When on mobile, the images appear clear, as we would want them to.
We have been uploading all featured images at 1599×600 resolution, as this was the theme’s size requirement. I have tried uploading both a larger and a smaller sized image, but the results have not changed.
Any explanation why this would be happening?
Hey harveytool,
It looks fine on my end when checking on a 13″ laptop using Chrome. Could you post a screenshot of what you are seeing on your end please? Also please check in an incognito window using Chrome to make sure that you are not getting cached results.
Best regards,
Rikard
Here is a link to a screenshot of what I am seeing in Chrome on a 17″ monitor:
The image has a lot of artifacts and comes across very blurry – but on mobile it looks okay, which is why it may look fine on your smaller laptop screen. The source image is crystal clear, so it is not an export issue on our end. Something is happening between our upload and it being posted to the WP media library and uploaded as a Featured Image. This only happens with Featured Images, and no other images within a post have this issue.
Incognito windows did not change the results on my end.
