Hello,
I am trying to update the theme from 4.2.6 to 4.3.1 – running into the error code below:
Update Failed: Download failed. cURL error 6: Could not resolve host: marketplace-downloads.customer.envatousercontent.comMay 5, 2018 at 5:49 am #952010Hey ghrahams,
You will need to contact your hosting provider in order to solve that, it’s a setting related to cURL which needs to be activated I think. You could also try updating manually via FTP: http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/
Best regards,
RikardMay 5, 2018 at 6:33 am #952027This happened to me too. I am contacting Synthesis. This has never been an error before. Is there something different about this update that wasn’t so before?

May 6, 2018 at 8:47 am #952280Hi Michael,
Yes, of course, if we didn’t change any code then we wouldn’t update the theme :-)
What could be causing it specifically I can’t say unfortunately. But the cURL error message is a server setting and nothing we can control in the theme code.

RikardMay 6, 2018 at 8:06 pm #952378My error was in the events-calender directory of enfold. I simply renamed the directory, as I don’t need events-calendar, and that got it working.
May 6, 2018 at 10:31 pm #952404Well, Copyblogger (who runs Synthesis, one of the leading WP hosting sites) said: “cURL is enabled on our server by default, so I am not sure what’s causing the issue on the theme update. It is best to do the manual update via FTP as they suggested.” Does this not still indicate an error in the Enfold update this time around?
May 7, 2018 at 12:28 am #952413FYI I did the update via FTP and it’s working. Still not sure why Synthesis would say it’s not their problem…
May 7, 2018 at 3:03 pm #952698Hi ghrahams,
Great, glad you got it working and sorry for the problem. Please let us know if you should need any further help on the topic or if we can close it.

RikardMay 7, 2018 at 3:05 pm #952700Hi Michael,
I’m not sure exactly what could be going wrong, but it might be that your host is blocking certain traffic like from Themeforest in this instance, or maybe vice versa. I can’t say that for sure unfortunately. If you want to dig deeper then I think you will have to look at the server logs to see what the exact error message is at the time of the failed update.

RikardJune 7, 2018 at 9:00 am #968275Hello,
When trying to update the Enfold theme, an error message occurs:
‘cURL error 6: Could not resolve host: marketplace-downloads.customer.envatousercontent.com; Name or service not known.’These updates have always worked perfectly on all our servers in the past. From the last update suddenly no longer on all servers. That is why I think that the problem is not with us, but rather with Themeforest. However, they do not help me either, and refer me back to the author (Kriesi).
Any solutions? Thank you.June 8, 2018 at 4:52 am #969915Hi Straver-reclame,
I think the easiest way to know what is causing your problems is to contact your hosting provider first, to see if they problem is on the server. If not then we can take it from there.
Best regards,
RikardJune 8, 2018 at 11:15 am #970049Hello Rikard,
The problem was on the server, my hosting provider fixed it.
Thank you.Regards,
