I see this question repeatedly in the forum but I do not see an answer. Like others, I am told that I am running the latest version – 3.6 – but clearly that is incorrect (and “checking manually” gives same result). I have downloaded the upgrade and am ready to install it. What do I do next?

The automatic updates doesn’t work with all server environments unfortunate, but you could try running this plugin in order to clear WordPress transients to see if that helps: https://wordpress.org/plugins/transients-manager/. If not then I think you will have to update manually via FTP: http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/
